Spanish Plastic Figures July 2017 Variety of Figures I first acquire some Spanish figures at the Plastic Warriors shows. Later I made two major purchases of Spanish plastic. what I liked was the wide variety of figures. While they did copied other companies The Spanish companies did many different figures. Here is a sample.
Spanish Plastic Figures July 2017 Variety of Figures Comansi
Comansi is still in business and over the years they have done various figures. In the above photo we have two of their space figures. They both have the number 2022 on the top of the base.
Comansi did a number of character related figures. Here we have four the five figures from the High Chapparel show. Missing from the group is Victoria Cannon wife of John Cannon. Years ago I met Henry Darrow who played Manolito Montoya. He was not aware that they had done figures of him in Spain.
Here we havethe later unpainted version with the earlier painted version of Buck Cannon. My only complaint is that they are 70mm nd not 54 or 60mm.Her
Another character figure from Comansi is Daniel Boone. The figure is 60mm.
Spanish Plastic Figures July 2017 Variety of Figures Jescan
Jescan is another Spanish company that did a wide variety of figures. Here we have two females from the circus series. The woman on the right is from a magic act. The woman on the right is holding a sign. some these figures showed up in larger cities in the United States do to a show called Interational Showtime. This program showcase European circus and was hosted by Don Ameche
One thing I was happy to see was the riessue of Jescan and Reamsa figures. Here we have a Jescan Mongol reissue. You can see how detailed the figure is.
I will be showing more Spanish figures in the coming months.
COMANSI did two space series.OVNI with years date in base as follow 20182019,2022… and Thunderbird .
The above are from OVNI =or UFO IN ENGLISH series that bring a lot action poses with pistol and space rifles plus robots and rare aliens. They are still very around on ebay often .The amount of poses of OVNI base in my collection is 25 ,but there more as was done in years adding more poses after as far i understand …
Thunderbirds comics were reissued and brought here by me ,I only import 24 bags to test ;not a good sale as very comics type.
Daniel Boone pose was generic included in many reissues forts ,also sold in bags with indians in last reissues from 90s.Not longer reissued.
I believe is more than 60 mm in my opinion…but i could be wrong.
Jecsan Circus poses are top$$ and set has over 40 human poses and more animals ,is huge .Some of the poses as those above are unique designed .
Jecsan 24 HUNS/tartars and or mongols poses are very well done and one of the first ever made in this type if not first with Elastolin .
Chaparal western set by COMANSI is not commonly seen around.Great collection. Not even in unpainted version.
When I carry the 90s sets they offer it in the catalog ,but when i place order it was not longer in production. It would had been a good set sale i think.
Jecsan have a early Viking set of 4 poses not released in reissued ,it is adjudicated often to the name (LA FABRICA)Recently I manage get all 4 poses and noticed they are complete different designed compere to the two artist works of JECSAN mold figures.I need find out more about then ..
Best..
I need self rectify here the 4 viking are by COMANSI,not Jecsan ,they were made by LA FABRICA that is apparently the early name given to COMANSI.
(I need corroborate name data soon)
I will send pictures to admin,of course will be in long pipe line to post as I drive Admin nuts with so much …
best…
No I will drive you nuts with a bunch of photos of items I do not know who made them.

i will try post link sales samples here soon if admin is ok with it..
best..
here is full sample out of bag of all poses of thunderbird(GUARDIANES DEL ESPACIO)

and few more poses from circus here too…

It is very interesting to find out how much importance and sets COMANSI and Jecsan primarily dedicate to many Western TV and films from Hollywood and in my opinion much more in diversity and poses than US brands. in the 1.30-1.322 scale figure plastic areas.Even their scale are in most cases larger than REAMSA making then only match with large taller US brands such TIM MEE,IDEAL,PAYTON or tall MARX .Yet they give the western sets an huge addition and dynamism.Too bad most in western had not been brought as reissues in 90s when some Jecsan set were imported.
Jecsan alog have over 80 different poses western, indians and soldiers.Comansi about same with benefit Comansi cover 3 scales 45,60 and 75 mm .
The fact the Spain was in a semi enclosed status or not quite much legality regarding license permit needs during 50-70s under Franco’s Regime made possible for Jecsan and Comansi go along with many films original names without need get in trouble too .While when referring sets name to coproductions films made in Europe or else they do changed the name to avoid issues.
REAMSA as main and first Spaniard exporter often made generic sets to skip the issues by giving different names if base if films with Exception of those made partially in Spain such EL CID .
Best..
It seems for the most part after the early 60’s Marx stopped doing character figures. Must not have been worth the price for them. Too bad. Rat Patrol, Planet of the Apes and the Dirty Dozen would have been great playsets.
Marx did Rat Patrol in a larger scale. MPC did character items King Fu and Planet of the Apes. Marx was licensing Disney. PLaysets may have been decline as the larger figures like GI Joe were coming to the forefront.
Aurora did a Rat Patrol in HO with guys that resembled the figures on the show. I still have them somewhere.
I had that Desert Rats hard plastic set. There were some nice looking sand dunes and an oasis with that set plus jeeps and tanks. I enjoyed that show as a kid.
It’s great to see the variety of European made figures, thanks Erwin.
The figures are from my collection. I have enjoyed the foreign figures for years because they were different.
TD figures are from admin, some are hard to get and infact i dont have some.Nice collections..
best..
Together you guys have always provided great info about all kinds of European and other figures rarely seen in the U.S., so thanks to you both.
