Dave Hart Toy Show Maryland July 2017 the first day of July Laurie and I head to Timonium Maryland. There we enjoyed Dave Hart show. This is a two day show. the first day is a toy show. the next day is flea market with most of the toy dealers staying for the two days. We always go the first day when it less crowded. The show has become a July tradition.
Dave Hart Toy Show Maryland July 2017 Getting to the Show
The show is two and half hours from our home. The roads to it are all highway so it is no hassle to get to the show. We arrived about 45 minutes after it opened. Our first stop was at Gerry Watts’ stand where he had plethora of items in plastic figures and toys. After making a few inital purchases. We headed up to next tables of Mare and Chris Lamont. Chris deals in character items and I can usually find a few items in his PVC bin.
After chatting with them a bit we headed up the rows. I like this show as it gives me some different dealers. I found one dealer with someMarx Civil War accessories and horses at a reasonable prices.
Another dealer I found some Timpo knights and Timpo Confederate seated rider for the caisson.
Later we saw Kerry who I got a mix lot of figures including the Marx Perils of Pauline figures. These figures were part of a game and I got them for a friend in Europe.
Dave Hart Toy Show Maryland July 2017 Jim McGough
One person we were hoping to see was Jim McGough of CTS. Jim had tables set up with plastic figures and action figures. Jim thought why am I coming down to this show, but he was glad he did as he was selling very well
One thing we asked him about was the status of CTS’ Korean War figures. Jim’s reply was they were hold. The reason for the delay is because of the cost of running the figures keeps going up. Dave Paine his partner and JIm have not decided how they will proceed. As soon they do, They will let us know.
Dave Hart Toy Show Maryland July 2017 More on the Show
We continued our hunt and I came up with a few more items for resale. This time it was some Britians swoppet foot cowboys and Indians. Laurie decided to sit with Mare Lamont while I went back to Gerry’s stand. With Gerry was his wife Emily as I looked over his stocks we talked about various things. You have to look very carefully as there are hidden treasures everywhere. In one box I found the Dulcop Tarzan and a native bearer. In another box I found two nice elephants that had been converted to hold a howdah to hold two soldiers. Also I got two centaurs that were conversions these will go in Laurie’s collection.
Once I finsihed my purchases with Gerry, Laurie and I left the show. We stopped on the way at Bob Evans a chain restaurant we do not have back in our area. Our favoerite meal is their country fried steak diner. We got home before the thunderstorms we had in our area.
