A strange request, and I’m seeking input from plastic soldier aficionados. I’m going to be running a role-playing game for some of my friends – as I have countless times over the years – but this time I’m going to be using 1/32 scale miniatures and setting the campaign in an era from the Renaissance through the Colonial period with anything from cutlasses through muskets and rifles. It’s a fantasy campaign, so anything goes. I’m good with male figures, from AIP to Marx to Conte and so on – what I really need are female 1/32 figures, from ladies in waiting to swashbuckling pirate ladies to female explorers. Can anybody think of any plastic figures that might help me find a few character figures? I’ve got Marx American Beauties but they are hardly “action” figures. Any input would be appreciated.
A distinctly feminine pose exists in the Timmee Space Patrol figures–a woman in a skirt and boots resting her hand a computer console (which could be removed with a deft exacto-knife.
The new Warhansa Salma Hayek western figure with the huge rifle could easily be changed to a musketeer wench by adding a plume to her cowboy hat, sticking a rapier on her belt and switching her giant Winchester to a matchlock. She is even wearing thigh boots and a bodice!
The Atlantic Egyptian Court had a very nice lady who could be used for many periods.
I will try to think of some more later.
Replicants did at least one female shooter. Britains Detail did a spacewoman with laser pistol. There were some female super heroes by someone. A Russian company does female knight-like figures. They might have been in the paladin set. They also do SF and fantasy warrior women. True Legends did a fantasy set including female warriors with two edged weapons. (They remind me of Dark Elf wyches). True Legends also do sorcerer/witch figures. Macau Dungeon and dragon sets had a sorcerer.
I’d love to hear the full story and mechanics of the game when it occurs.
Elite Forces Pirate Crew has a great looking Woman pirate thrusting with cutlass forward and axe overhead, but it is a little small closer to 45-50mm; hard to tell her scale since her back leg is angled forward and her front leg is bent. She is a great action figure as a thin petite pirate, less than 5 feet tall in 54mm scale.
Elite Forces is aka Blue Box Pirates vs. Skeleton Warriors set still sold on Amazon and sometimes on ebay.

has photo of this pirate lass. She’s not as physically imposing as the Warhansa pirate lass. However, when I set her up by a Replicants naval Officer, her sword is pointed right at his throat, so she means business! 🙂
I just found the perfect figure for you. Warhansa has a new set of pirates. Look at the strapping lass with the two flintlocks:

I’ve not paid much attention to Warhansa before though they’ve not been my eras or scale; wondering, are they an offshoot of Warhammer?
They are an independent Russian company. Most of the figures are 28mm but these pirates, and a Good the Bad and The Ugly set, some gladiators, a Skyrim duo and a post apocalyptic warrior are in 54-60mm. I have the GBU set and aside from the obviously HUGE weapons, they are very nice figures.
I like the figures, but not so much the over-sized weapons they carry. Thanks for sharing. I will look into these.
$26 for 4 figures and I wouldn’t use the female. Great looking, though!
Thanks Mark
Preiser makes a 1/32 scale female “Eve” plastic multi-pose kit, you can make your own custom figures.
Reamsa agustina Aragon is 54 mm contrary to standard 60mm.So are their western female made reissued too

DULCOP bartender female and other could be used.
Barzso did some.

Barzso has quite a few women some firing rifle, one a flintlock pistol, another with a bucket putting out a fire, one tied up, one backing away from Magua. Plus I think there a couple Indians women, one with a hoe for sure. Even BMC has a couple Indian women. Of course there is always the Stad woman kneeling firing a pistol.
I n Safari LTD tubes sets, the western and pirates have women too as well Indian and early settlers set.
Several US brand vintage farm sets have woman too but more in modern depiction while British- Britain,Timpo,Charben ,Crescent have others as well….
Nice one, Erwin. I forgot all about the Safari pirate lass. She’s armed with cutlass and pistol.
Replicants sets “The Tavern Keeper and Serving Wench” and “Western Townsfolk”
Charbens recast welsh girl and girl in national costume.

Marx and Corgi Daktari female figures; ebay search “1/32 women toy figures” yields several good pirate figures and one “Queen of Crows” figure. Happy hunting!
The last Britains plastic Robin Hood set had a Maid Marion figure thrusting with a knife in her hand.
