Plastic Figure Showcase Finds April 2017 last month I got a nice group of figures for the collection. Some of the items came from markkets and shows. Other figures came from friends. I never know where a figure can turn up. In the past I have stop to get some food and ended up with a few figures for the collection.
Plastic Figure Showcase Finds April 2017 MFCA
I will start with my finds from the MFCA Show. As I mention I picked up a set of Superman figures. The lot of twelve figures not thirteen figures. (There were two Clark Kents so one is going to a friend.) There are a number of villians in the set. From left to right we have Bizarro, Darkseid, Doomsday, Brainiac and Lex Luthor.
Next we have the villian Mongul, Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. As I said in the article on MFCA Show I like that Lois is in apants suit.
The last photo shows a villian I do not recognize, Supergirl and Superman. I have no idea who made the figures, when or if there are more.
The figure on the right is the ballerina I picked up with the Superman figures. The figure on the left I got in a junk box. It looks like an elf of some sort.
The figure on the right is also from that Superman purchase. I believe it to be a princess and 45mm. On the woman on the left I got that from a source. I have no ide if she is from a model kit or what.
Plastic Figure Showcase Finds April 2017 Junk Box Time
Most of my figures come froma junk box. The figure on either side of the Forces of Valor figure were from junk box. The Forces of Valor was from a lot of figures.
The arab I figure is from Indiana Jones set. The Marx six inch Indian has been downsize to 45mm. Likewise the Airfix Scottish Highlander officer.
The knight is on the wrong base. I like it for the color. The other figure is conversion. The person put an BMC Alamo head on Call to Arms body.
Our final photo is of a pilot. I would like to know what he goes too.
The knights come in a large playset plastic box with dragons, catapults,”german banners” and tents, with few Saracens and late Britain detail poses copied in pink and I think green , blue and red for opposite sides..I think it was by Awesome-kids brand
I bough it in early 2000 at ZITOMER-NYC store. Is storage somewhere in my dungeons.
Best…
The Indian running pose most be by Barabelli ,they copied then from CANE MARX copied sets in small version(45-55MM ) ,same in cowboys, still around in blister or bags.
Don’t know why someone would go to all the time and effort to waste a perfectly good CTA figure by grafting on one of those god-awful BMC Alamo heads. BMC made some really, really good and useful stuff, but those Texans! Yeesh!
I would like to find out more about the green US GI from the junk box. He reminds me of a standing-still version of my favorite Airfix GI.
Brian.The Gi.
Is a hybrid e bottom from Dulcop German pose and top Dulcop Gis.
I had then in 6 poses made in HK
from 80s.They mix several half body from both setvposes
Sorry Mark.
I responded to u as Brian.
Late x me ..LOL
That’s OK Erwin. Funny, my best toy soldier friend as a boy was named Brian.
I had not noticed that the GI had German Jackboots. With a little imagination, he would make a good Russian!
I agree as he has a bolt rifle and boots pretty much more bulky copied more like Russian plus helmet has an odd shape more like Russian. I have to check the other 5 poses some how and see their look, is been long I not look at then.
There other hybrid mix made out of Jean Hoefler poses GIs too in HK.
Best..
I think the girl in white blouse and blue jeans is by Preiser and there is a figure of a young guy that goes with her.
Now that you say the company I agree.
The copy of the Marx running Indian is a Hong Kong figure. They came in a set with a copy of the Herald Tepee , canoe and Timpo Totem pole.
There was a brave firing rife and one kneeling firing bow based on, but not copied from Herald.. Some sets were issued with minimum paint added and a mounted swoppet copy of a Britains Indian.
The 45mm Superman figures I think are from a boxed set, made to look like a book, with various diorama style pages.
I have a similar set with Batman figures. Batman, Robin, Joker, etc.
The Ballerina was a figure that was used in a music box, at one time they could be purchased separately for music box kits sold by Hobbies Ltd.
Thanks for the information. Interesting on the ballerina, I figured from the base it had been used else where. How many figures are in your Batman set. Typical I will go to a Superhero show and find military figures and vice versa.
Hi
There is two versions of Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Joker, Riddler. Penguin, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman
I will try and dig them out
That means there is 12 figures in the set so I should have all of them.
Somewhere in the garage I have a whole bag of those 45mm Marx 6 inch western clones. When I bought them I was hoping to use them with my Marx and Airfix, but they are just too small. Some are in really weird colors like neon pink and silver.
Some really Nice and Interesting figures, I especially like the Superman villains figures, They could also double for some interesting Fantasy figures.
