No Name Mounted Fantasy Figures, Roman Russian Knight

No Name Mounted Fantasy Figures, Roman Russian Knight  as mention in the comments Andrey Buslov had photos of the new No Name figures.  Two of the figures are fantasy figures. The other figures are mounted Roman and mounted Russian knight.  You might have problems seeing the figures so I had Andrey email them to me.

No Name Mounted Fantasy Figures, Roman Russian Knight  The Figures

No Name Mounted Fantasy Figures, Roman Russian Knight Two of the mounted figures are fantasy figures. This is the first offering by No Name in the Fantasy area.  The first figure we are showing is fantasy knight. He is with a pole axe.

The other mounted fantasy figure is in mounted armor with large weapon. All I can say on the figure is different.

The other figure is a mounted Russian knight with a lance. It looks like both historical figures are using the same horse.

No Name Mounted Fantasy Figures, Roman Russian Knight  Final thoughts

Like all of  other No Name figures the detail is excellent.  The fantasy figures are interesting I do not know if they are related to a series or not.  I have heard rumors that mounted  Roman and Russian knight  were delayed  due to mold problems. At the moment I have no information of when these figures will be out or cost. As soon as we have the information we will let you know.

    Detail is well done.
Poses too.the fantasy figures remain me of Supreme made in china set made of fantasy knight figures .
The roman mounted pose is a wrong depiction as far I can see…
It looks a light velite or legionarie with infantry hoplong greeck style long spear not roman lance that was derivated from Gaul lance.
The mounted russian looks nice .They should do much more.
Aperantly the makers had forgoten that mongols fough in cavalry most time and russian as well learn from mongols as early russian armies were infantry based most derivated from Rus and viking style fighting cultures.
Horses armies were massive introduce by mongols and stepes warriors in eastern Europa.
Regardless I apreciate and welcome all as once again from russia with love and only making figures now.
    My thought. ..
    Best..

  2. Those mounted fantasy guys look like fun to me even though the second figure’s gun has roid rage.

  3. Tom Black says:

Ya, that’s over the top fantasy for me. I like the LOTR style but the futuristic post apocalyptic stuff is not for me.

    • Mark T. says:

I would like the Post Apocalyptic Orc figure more if he didn’t have that gigantic weapon. I never could stand that oversized weapon Warhammer influenced style. If someone did post apocalyptic Orcs with reasonably sized guns I would definitely buy them.

Liberally I do not understand the comic style exaggerated weapons .It looks very small children style TOY to me.
First Technolog had then ,after they reduced in most figures set.
I guess they waste the figure and mold in this .
        my thought

Could these new comic designs be an attempt to preserve the hobby by appealing to new and young collectors? I think it’s pretty clear that manufacturers won’t survive long by specializing in exclusively traditional toy soldiers.

    • Mark T. says:

Speaking of new and young collectors, here’s a video that provides all of us 40 – 70+ year old toy soldier collectors with hope for the future of our hobby. I managed to drag my 11 year old son and his 10 year old cousin off the XBox for a while and got them going with a Star Wars Command battle. They asked me to video it for them and put it on Youtube, as they were impressed with the Timpo video my son and I did last year. I thought I would share it with you guys. How long has it been since you saw actual KIDS playing with toy soldiers?

      • Andy says:

LOL!!!!!! That is PRICELESS. Thanks for sharing. By the way, I have your Timpo video saved to my favorites and look at it (with MUCH jealousy) frequently!!

        • Mark T. says:

Thanks Andy! When I took this video I was thinking how much I would give to have a video like this of one of my childhood battles with my old boyhood friends. My son and his cousin still prefer the video games, but it’s nice to provide them with an old fashioned alternative!

When I spoke to Stengel Jr at the Lafayette show, he stated his next set was going was going to be based on the Zombie Apocalypse. I think that is smart idea seeing how popular the Walking Dead series is at this time. Plus he stated it was something he always wanted to do. Sounds like a sound plan to me.

  6. Ed Connell says:

Priceless Mark T. Many more vids like these could be done. I like some fantasy stuff. Write a script introduce the characters, and who’s doing the narrating, and voices for the characters. You could even do a campaign with dice rolling. Your imagination is all thats needed. Thanks for showing this.
