Peter Evans' Figure Other Finds April 2017 Mehanotehnika is a Slovenian toy company that was founded in 1952. The company changed its name to Mehano and is still in business making model trains.

Mehano at one point copied a number of other companies’ figures. We have two of these sets cowboys and Indians. These were part of a small find in the UK. Peter sent me one  setof each. The first we are showing is the cowboys.

Peter Evans' Figure Other Finds April 2017 The cowboys are copies of the Marx six inch figures.  You have six different poses.

The figure on the left is Casey Jones from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This figure is 45mm. I could use him as a criminal by change his hockey stick with a gun.  The dinosaur is non Super hero and is going into Laurie’s collection.  Finally we have Supergirl and Wonder Woman. I do not know what series they are off hand. Peter will let us know.

Peter Evans' Figure Other Finds April 2017

In the above picture you see three Indians. Two are made by Michel  Starlux’s cheaper line. The other was made by Hilco.  The Hilco figure was designed by George Erik who also  designed many of Reamsa.  The question comes up who made the figure first.  The English claim Hilco was first while the French claim Michel was first.

Alain Thomas who wrote the Starlux books respond in French Forum that Hilco made their figures around  1955. Starlux had already sold their  figures for several years. We should hear from other side on this subject.

Does the cowboy sets is taken from Rubestein mold Marx base set or direct from the 6″ poses as CANE and Barabelli did .
MEHANO did also others British figures brands copies as well too.
This and IRGA brand were the main brands exported from former Czechoslovakia
