Plastic Figure Showcase Foreign Figures Part Two we take look at some more various foreign figures. I will start of with a Jescan snake in a tree. We follow up with some Western figures. Finally some odds and ends will finish this section.
Plastic Figure Showcase Foreign Figures Part Two Jescan Snake
Jescan did several different snake figures. Most of them are a snake fighting an animal. This one has the snake in a tree. This would be nice in a western or jungle setting.
Plastic Figure Showcase Foreign Figures Part Two Western Figures
This first figure I am not sure if the person put two different companies together or if it is correct. The mounted figure is Britain mounted Indian with tomahawk. According to Peter Cole’s book on Britains Plastic Suspended Animation the figure was made from 1971 to 1978. The horse I have no idea who made it. I don’t if someone found some over stock of Britains Indian and decided to put it on this horse. A question that needs to be answered.
The Indina on the left is Hong Kong Swoppet missing his weapon. The one on the right I can not make out the name pehaps someone knows who made it.
We have another mounted Indian. The figure should have been made in France. It is hard plastic and may be missing a feather. The figure should be from one of the smaller companies.
The final figure is a copy of the Marx cowboy with money bag. The figure was made by DDR in East Germany
Plastic Figure Showcase Foreign Figures Part Two Odds and Ends
In the photo above on the left we have JSB from Belgium. It is a walking wounded soldier. His head is bandaged and he is carrying his helmet on his shoulder. The other figure is a handyman with wrench and a box. He was made in China. I have no other idea if he was in a set or with vehicle.
Our final photo of the day shows one of the Zizzle Pirates of the Caribbean figure. Zizzle did 24 different figures! I have gotten a few of them over the years. The figure is Governor Weatherby Swann. As to the other figure a man with his dog I have no idea who made it. there are no markings. The dog is a plug in. If I guess it is English and made by Taylor and Barrett. I have no idea who where I got it.
Love the snake in a tree, That could fit into all kinds of settings. Never seen it before but really nice.
I found it in my accessory bin. I like it as it can be used in so many ways.
The kneeling Indian with bow is by Paramount (UK) the man with the dog is by T&B from their road crossing set
The mounted Herad Indian is on the wrong horse. I think the horse may be Elastolin
Thanks for the update. I could not read the Paramount on the Indian. I was right on the man. I must have bought the mounted indian due to the horse.
I thought Zizzle did only 2 sets for Piraes of the Caribbean. One set of Pirates in 4 poses and a set of Monster-like Pirates also 4 poses. 24 different poses! I’d like to see them if there is some kind of website.
Also 4 poses of Chinese Pirates.
I’d like to see them, too; I think I saw some of their figures but they were all the “Davey Jones” bunch or something like that so I passed.
These are smaller figures than the sets you are thinking of. I have a card in the basement which shows the figures. These figures were in a blind bag set up which you had to soak in water. I will get it in the morning and give you more details. also to see if I have the right company.
Thanks, Paul – lo0ks like I missed ANOTHER great set. Oh well…
This set was only available in Europe. the reason I know of them is Peter Evans sent a few to me.
The French made mounted indian with bow is made by Cyrnos but I’m not sure this horse and rider originally went together, the horse looks like earlier production and the indian is later also the indian horses didn’t have saddlebags, nice figures none the less.
The prancing horse with Britains indian on it reminds me of one of the Dulcop better quality horses.
Thanks for the information Brian. I figure it was from one of the smaller French companies. Sometimes I do not know how or why I picked up a figure.
The H Indian loos like he has a Timpo head as I haven’t seen this particular head copied before.
James, you are right. I am pretty sure that is a genuine Timpo head with the feathers broken off.
I had dozens of those rubbery torso Timpo knockoffs myself as a kid, but I have never seen that particular torso with the shield before.
The indian on horse is ofcouse by Britains; the horse itself is made by Ellepi, Italy. The indians of this maker are very-very-very hard to find.
