Reader’s Contributions Part Three March 2017 we have several items from our readers. First up from Markus Lecksheid, we have some more Dulcop information. this includes some rare cards and some mystery items. Markus give us more information on the Mouldie Oldie Ninjas. We have a new conversion of mounted Mexicans. I will round it up with some photos I have floating around.
Reader’s Contributions Part Three March 2017 Dulcop
Markus photographed another back of a Dulcop Box. This time we are seeing three rare wagons. They are buckboard, jail wagon and doctor’s wagon. Checking with Erwin Sell this wagon’s are rare. They are mention in one book, but with one of the jail wagon that is it.
Next we have a series of Dulcop Blister Cards. This one has the hunter and some animals. For some reason they put an out of scale jeep on the card.
The next Dulcop card is of the foot mountie poses. You get the three different foot poses twice.
Our third blister card is a Mini Zoo. this is an interesting set as it has several unpainted civilans. They are man with dog, girl, woman and man besides zoo keeper. Theother interesting item is the two tree each with a vulture. These are from the western series.
Finally we have a box set of Dulcop Army figures. Markus sent us this photo to show us a different army truck.
Reader’s Contributions Part Three March 2017 Mouldie Oldie
Markus has the Mouldie Oldie ninjas in their box. As Brian Carrick mentioned in his comment on this subject they were made for Frank Beyster. Frank is still with us ans sets up at toy shows. Frank and his wife also set up medieval reneactment festivals selling fruits and spices. Markus hopes to see him this weekend and see if he can get some more information.
Here is the Box lid.
Reader’s Contributions Part Three March 2017 Ed Borris
Here we have some mounted Mexican cavalry that Ed Borris did for a customer.
Reader’s Contributions Part Three March 2017 My Photos
Marx Cowboys in blue, I would be interested in kow if they were in a playset or not.
Palmer Astronauts the set had 8 different figures. The hardest to find are the space chimp and sitting astronaut.
Gay Toys fireman and girl. Gay Toys only did 12 different civilans. The company was located in Walled Lake Michigan. They were in business from 1960’s to 1970’s.
All are great.
Thanks Markus x Dulcop add on samples.
The army set has a rare vehicle indeed.
Never see it.
The underscalee jeep in in blister is common.
Dulcop did an HO or smaller cheap line of army and civilians vehicles as well died cast cars. They often included in blister set as easy to fit inside.
The zoo set I have exat same plus others.
Funny curiosity .it come with “Cuban”flag always!?
I have two others different with other animals and have same banner.
Great in ninjas.
So far I have 6 poses .Intersting in box made.
Will love heard what else Markus find.
Best…
Ah I believe that’s the “Puerto Rico” flag not the Cuban but still odd choice.
Yes. PR has the blue field and red stripes as seen here; Cuba has same design with a red field and blue stripes.
I have cowboys in blue. They seem like a later issue plastic to me.
I like the conversion ,but will love see then more closer in a better pic.
The GAY TOY , I have several vehicles, some planes and helicopters are in nice scale.
,so the boats.
Most mold end in Mexico and still around being produced.
Not much of Palmers ,but I see then around often ….
best…
The Zoo poses human are 6 .

Some really nice figures here but I especially like the Ninja figures and I look to finding out more about them.
We hope Markus can find out. At the moment only are few out in the states. It was something we ran into on our trips to Europe. We did a trip to a toy show in Derby. We took a train and then got a cab to the racecourse. It was fun day seeing dealers. We tried to do a show the day after PW show. It has let some interesting experiences and great stuff we have found over the years.
Ok thanks I haven’t seen these Ninja figures before but they look really cool and I do collect Ninja figures as I feel that they go pretty well with my Ancient and Medieval figures.
Thank You Ed..
Very well done,there few poses I will commission to you;but I need then in Napoleonic;
So I will look x mounted extra poses as the uniform and hat can not be varied, only arms and weapons .
Napoleonic cavalry have very specific uniforms.
The poses fighting to their side with spear had been done only in metal and in painting as far I recall;never in plastic and very accurate of real hand to hand spear men or lancers in melee against another cavalrymen of probably foot soldier.
Poses is .
Pose # 6 from first row ,left to right .The pose is awesome and very unique. It has not been observed in plastic as far I know.
I noticed most cavalry men are made in poses that are more common charging or attacking infantrymen But many cavalry action took place in cavalry versus cavalry ,such in Civil war,European most wars and some others of course.
In such event generally the contrary will try pose other in their left .Ed took well consideration and anatomic well observation representing exact at riding action how well you can pose the figure in exact way they did.
It has been showed in many painting.
I saw in few metal figures recently and one Elastolin.
Other poses like stabbing with lance/spear are great too.
Many usually are portraying with spear-lance in the typical charging pose.
Here Ed took liberty create the pose hand wrist variation by actually stabbing at a foot contrary enemy .
The rest are great of course.
Very well done Ed..thank you for sharing your awesome job.
Best regards…
Gay Toys, now American Plastic Toys, made some cool planes and helicopters, including an SR-71. I had some of their bin toys as a kid in the 70s and 80s.
I remember purchasing a Gay school bus around 1970 with the police officer (crossing guard) with a megaphone and the young boy and school girl with books figures. I could never really figure out where to put the vulnerable children in all of my war scenarios. I remember eventually “awarding” them to my younger sister.
I have the SR-71 as well two helicopters and two other planes and few different boats great x Vioet Nam era river boats in nice scale simple toy reissues from original GAY TOYS mold in Mexico for long now ,they are easy and cheap to get often.
There few trucks and cars that are sold from Mexico as well now …
