Atlantic U.S. Cavalry Figures in White Erwin Sell shows us examples of a rare color. Most collectors are use to seeing the U.S. Cavalry in blue. At the end Atlantic did other colors. Erwin will show where the cavalry in white was sold.
Atlantic U.S. Cavalry Figures in White Information
ATLANTIC US cavalry were made mix colors in blister pack in last edition.
Here are samples of white Please note the color is cream ivory white but the flash shows as a gloss white.
They were made in mid brown,Khaki ,light blue ,yellow, red and mid green colors
These figures were not sold in boxes or window case boxes.
Note the overmold in figures typical of last edition figures made.
Erwin, You are talking about those cards with the crazy colors right?
Custer in yellow or green.
Indians in bright red.
Bill Murphy had a bunch of those way back.
I have about a dozen of them, I think that I got from him.
All western, but not those Cavalry Riders.
Were in cards and bags too. Mix inside ,to get a full set same color you need get then out several pack ,the US cavalry were not done in gloss fancy colors as the cowboys, they use more mate colors, I have some foot poses as well.
What is overmold? Is that the same as flash? Do you mean by last edition figures that the mold was wearing out? Just curious.
Yes ,it seems so ,wile my foot poses had not same issued.
I do not know why!?
By the way Gulliver did wrong then in grey colors. But not seen too often.
run, no wrong.sorry
I have an Atlantic Custer set in flat medium blue – one piece has a lying horse with two attached figures, one piece has three connected soldiers with a flag, and eight different single figures. Box says “Gen. Custer” #1211 “Scala 1/32”. Price sticker $12.00 from a place called Happy Hobby with a 414 area code from Milwaukee area.
My other Western cowboy sets are brown and Indian sets are a dull orange color. Great toys, wish they were closer to 54mm.
Gulliver big scales series-1.32 ( Gulliver also did western in 30 mm )runs a bit smaller than Atlantic…
I have entire Gulliver playset in painted format with teepees and all. Paint used by Gulliver was very good.
Gulliver did nice forts as well
I also have many loose poses in later not painted reissued, but few cavalry poses on foot.
Gulliver also copied Jecsan and Pech Hermanos western second series poses sets in more 54/56 mm scales but for short time only .Then never done any more and no one know why ;but could-may had been either in fire at factory that happen or because copywriters from Spaniards brands.
best..
