Unboxing Fort Comansi Part Two We are back with the next section of Bill Nevins review of his Comansi playset. Westerns were very popular in Spain. The various Spanish Companies did figures, buildings, vehicles etc. Comansi was one of those companies and did a wide range of figures. So let’s see what Bill has discovered.
Unboxing Fort Comansi Part Two Contents
Here is the contents of the Cavalry/Cowboys bag.
Unboxing Fort Comansi Playset Part Two Foot Figures
First up are the foot figures.
Six different poses, all painted. All the figures have holes in the bases for placement along the fort. They are made from a darker blue plastic.
Note the epaulettes on the officer.
Unboxing Fort Comansi Playset Part Two Mounted Figures
Next are the mounted cavalry.
Here are five different poses, all on the same white horse.
The figure on the far right would most likely be the flag bearer.
He has an open hand and it stands to reason that the Cavalry banner would go there.
Again painted figures over dark blue plastic.
Unboxing Fort Comansi Playset Part Two Cowboys
Finally there are two cowboys included in the bag.
Both cast in green plastic, but fully painted.
Interestingly one is a “bandit”.
Looks to me like he won’t get far with all that cavalry around.
The other pose is firing into the air. Perhaps an accomplice firing a shot to scare people? Who knows. But that’s it for this part.
Unboxing Fort Comansi Playset Part Two Stad’s Comments
Comansi Figures are 70mm and very stylize. They did some interesting poses like cavalry throwing a barrel over his head. Another figure is a cowboy on the ground holding a three leg stool. With his other hand he is firing a pistol. Comansi is an interesting company and we will see more in Bill’s report.
Does the mounted officer have a patch on his one eye or did someone just punch him? Not what I would call attractive figures, some ugly looking rifles with those mounted poses. I guess it’s a cool toy though which is what it was meant to be. As a kid I would been thrilled ot get one, not so much as an adult if I am indeed an adult.
Ii is the paint they add on, the last production were poorly painted ass using young teens x it .The weapons in COMANSI are the less detail out of most Spaniard figures.
Poses are very nice still. Last Jecsan artist work for COMANSI with two others.
Early COMANSI first 24 western poses have much better weapon detail.
Another odd thing with COMANSI was the under scale horses made for their figures.
Yet it amaze me how many western series Spaniards did in western era toys .
Mainly the 4 main brands did hundreds of poses counting Indians, cowboys, trapers, soldiers and towns people.
Interesting bags .
COMANSI produce their entire US cavalry and part of western/Indians in 40 mm scale as well (I have some of then) .
These are the approx. 70/75 mm scale more produced
All post 1968 Comansi figures has a hole in base to be sold in widow cases as original sold.
They were attached to house base or fort parts too in many cases .Fort and houses have plastic pin in purpose made x it.
Bags sets are much post-later but last sold painted or hand painted by COMANSI.
The one with stool is belong to a bar fight set pose with another with bottle and other shooing seated up. The entire 4 poses sets come with Chinese cooker and bartender ,hard to find complete in once. Chinese, seating and other are hard to get.
this pose ,stool and bartender were generic used in many other sets separated.
Last officers(mounted and foot) with Epuletes is suppose to be Custer, was made for first set in that series with that name.Later random used. Were used x Rin Tin Tin as well.
Rojas and Malaret,Pech Hermanos and Jecsan did exact same one mounted and one foot for Custer charter pose.
COMANSI-Made a window set call (General “Crooked” support troops)-I’m serious and I do not know if was done intentional or just change it, it does not make sense but was sold as that in box and advertised.
Best…
Could the Comansi “General Crooked” set be a garbled reference to General George Crook, a noted Indian fighter probably best known for his campaigns against the Apache?
The box read (General Crooked .-bellow -Refuerzos de Custers). It was done as part if continuation Custer sets made for the series of LBH sets and two forts made.
I will think they are referring to General Crook actions and not able reinforce Custer campaign after Rosebut.
I doubt it was miss spelled ,but could had been….
The window case I sow has the mounted same Custer pose painted in very dark blue wile others in light medium blue.

Gulliver Forts were made of wood till 1989.
in 1990 they change to all new fort in plastic using the 60 mm Atlantic copied figures and not the 30/35 mm scale series.
In 2012 Gulliver stop producing any toys. But sold overstock till recently .
Gulliver file Chapter(#!?) undisclosed bankruptcy in 2013 .Since 2016 web site is inactive and not response at all.
