Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017, Peter has sent me some interesting figures for my collection. This month we will have some interesting conversions. One I am sure people will find fascinating is a conversion of the Airfix  U.S. Army  bazooka figure. Peter has converted it from kneeling firing to a standing  firing figure. Some other figure he has  converted you may the original figure he used and then again maybe not.  Next we will look at some resin Indians followed by a couple opf painted figures. final we will show some action figures. Two of them you might find interesting while the third will give you a laugh or two.

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017 Conversions

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017The first two conversions are German soldier shooting to the side and Indian chief kneeling firing rifle. The German soldier is a conversion of an Cherilea. I can not totally recognize what poses he used. The Indian chief the bottom half is Airfix Indian firing the bow. The top half is from the Britains Herald Indian chief.  We will see if  I am right when Peter comments on the post.

Next we have a black Union soldier marching and Landsknecht with hands on belt. Peter converted a Cherilea British grenadier marching. I do not recognize the source for the Landsknecht.

The last conversion we have from Peter is Airfix U.S. Army Firing a bazooka. You can see that Peter combined the kneeling firing bazooka with a stand firing rifle.  I think it makes a better pose. What do you thing?  I think you can see the seam line on the back.

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017 Other figures

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

Over in the UK they have been selling a large scale series of cowboys and Indians. They have also shown up here. The figure is  inches high.  This gives you an idea of what a mounted figure would have looked like if Marx had done in the six inch range.

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

Here we have a nice group of resin Indians. I wonder if these are available at various tourist attractions in Western Uninted States?

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

These last two figures are a cowboy with a lasso  and a miner.

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017 Action Figures

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

Peter sent me three action figures. Two of them are from a series called either Pirates Grim or Deadly Ocean. The figures are excellent detailed. My only complaint is the weapons with them.

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

The last one is one of those knockoffs that show up various secondary venues.  It is called Hero.  If you look at it the company is trying the figure is Zorro.

Peter Evans Treasure February 2017

You can see the company even had someone dress up as Zorro. They used the photo as a way to confused people into thinking it is.  An interesting piece for the collection.

Interesting conversion on Cherilea most. Arifix too.
I like the pose firing of AK german made .(That is a big Helmet head),is that Atlantic or other!?I thing is body is from US cavalry or Canadian?-hard remember every pose now…
Indian kneeling ironical was made in a Chinese copy, I got then, very crude done, also repeated in rare HK cowboy -Indian futuristic set .
I think Lansquenet is German, but could be French too, I can see it well I may be wrong ,when get home will do research better, sorry.

resin Indian were in dollar store in last 3 years. I got 9 poses total in my purchase. Got some doubles and sold pass as composition resin x those who like it on eBay .
Admin they are belong to same series sold in single bags at craft stores as well under (Classic relics inc) I advise you off about 6 month ago.

The big pirates were last 2 to 3 year in Big Lot and Ocean Job lot too. Not my like =action figures. There is series of Viking and romans/gladiators too done under it.On sale from China or Hong Kong direct via EBay sellers as well.
If Peter or any interested I pass links over.
They had been repack and sold in many ways.
Never see Zorro before -new to me
Admin you should have then(Pirates) loose in big box I sold to you. Never see Zorro before …
    best…

    • admin says:

On the Big Lots here did not get the pirates.
The Zorro is a knock off it is not an authorized piece these show up at flea markets or cheap stores. I have seen one set of super heroes that included a Shrek. LOL
I have to get back into craft stores. We do not have Yankee Dollar

  2. bill nevins says:

The Landsknecht looks like it began as a pirate.

  3. erwin says:

The Pirates come loose in single pack ,but different that the one in photo or in set of 4 figures when I first saw then here.Another big playset under TM carry then inside with ship.
The brand FUNTASTIC is just a distributors, these figures are sold under any other.
Here FUNTASTIC supply YANKEE DOLLAR and Ocean Job lot among others .
I had see the King Kong sets and Space Robots by FUNTASTIC often around for few years now
Wile I had not see the roman/gladiators figures distributed by then here at all ,
But US is too big and distribution from coast to coast varied a lot according to ports ,buyers else. So who knows if are in other stores. How many in this blog actually report back every month as not time and few of us barely driving near.
DGN 6 first set of WW2 were not distributed in UK and Europe wile last new and knights appear in Russian only under RED CAT Russian distribution but not here in US as far we know.
Is a mess to get all at once in one spot.
Recently I spot some pirates that are not known to me but appear very new. They are sold with one 60 mm cowboy that is a non painted copy of early sold in 2006 painted and I got plenty before, later distributed here in US as well in UK with Indians too.
The cowboy looks from else set wile pirates, one pose resemble one sailor I have in 45 mm made in china .
I will ask seller to see what says.
    see the pirates here please.

I always keep an eye out for decent figure sets in the Dollar General Stores and Big Lots when I go in but there is seldom anything decent. Mostly the cheapest undersized and poorly detailed Hong Kong knockoffs.

  5. bill nevins says:

Erwin, My second choice was Superman.
Hands on hips, chest stuck out, legs apart, pose.

    Could it be?

Look up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane!
    It’s Super Landsknetch

    Nah……

  6. peter evans says:

The Landsknetch is a resin casting I did from a Timpo hollow cast Quetin Durward series figure, then painted up.
I will have one for sale on Ebay in the next few days

Admin Note Quentin Durward was a 1955 movie with Robert Taylor in the lead. Timpo did Hollowcast figures for that and Knights of the Round table

    • admin says:

I kept look at the figure and was saying it is famaliar. I used the hollowcast version for a cover of short story I published. In book three I will get my main character into more colorful clothing. I did not notice any bubles on the figure.

  7. peter evans says:

The Afrika Korps 60mm figure uses the Cherilea cowboy firing body on the running german legs with the Cherilea head
The kneeling indian is HK copy Airfix legs and a HK version of the Herald Indian, not an exact copy but derived from that pose.
The figure standing with the spade is an Afrika Korps figure made for a Indiana Jones skirmish war game

  8. ed borris says:

The bazooka guy was well done, too bad somebody chewed on the bazooka, must have thought it was Bazooka Joe. ( for those from foriegn countries Bazooka Joe was a brand of bubble gum that was popular here in the states)

    • Erwin says:

I think the bazooka guy had a miss fire or hit by return fire.:-):-)
They often are easy target as early bazooka require some time aiming and been loading in back by partner often exposing it very dangerous.

      • ed borris says:

Yes, one must be aware of those gnashing teeth. Never quite sure when that T Rex will come running out and take a bite out of you. I would advise him not to fire it now I would think the round may have some issues with exiting the tube.

  9. TDBarnecut says:

The standing bazooka man is a convincing figure, what is that on the ground between his boots?
