Warhansa Western Figures Update InformationTo recap Brian Mcivar spotted these figures from a company called Warhansa. This company had been doing war game figures prior to this.  Three of the figures were designed to represent the main characters from Good, Bad and the Ugly.  The maker does not call them due to licensing issues. The fourth figure is female with winchester.

This figure is to represent Lee Van Cleef. You can see the detail. You could also use him as a gambler at a table.

This figure is to be Clint Eastwood.  Some people think the hat is too small and the pistol too big

The next figure is to be Eli Wallach. You could use this figure with your Mexican bandits in separate stories.

Finally we have the female western figure.  When we first posted about it we had no idea who it was. Andrey feels the figure is the character Sara Sandoval from the movie Bandidas. Sar Sandoval was played Salma Hyek.  The movie was released in 2006 at a cost of $36,000,000.00. Sadly movie bombed as it only made eighteen million dollars worldwide.  The movie is about two female bandits in Mexico who take on a ruthless land baron.

The  figure is poorest of the group with it oversized winchester.

It was actually less expensive to order them direct from the site than it is on eBay.
    [$29.14 including tracked shipping]
On the female figure, I reckon I’ll call it a Winchester model 1887 lever action 10 gauge shotgun. That should help with the size issue.

  2. Andy says:

No thanks on these. The aforementioned weapons and hat are just not good enough to warrant the price. I have bought the tin figures that represent the Good, Bad, and Ugly, though. They paint up well and details are outstanding. Here’s one example of a seller who offers them on eBay.

  3. erwin says:

Personally I like the figures, the weapons in most could be a minor fix, the deep detail is great!!,Scale and poses are fine too. Prices a bit high but are charters too.
In the other had as I had mention before I collect two separated ways.
For interesting figures (like these) where all rare, odd and unique plus some poor detail are too in my collection.
or for my historical realistic scenes(Other and most I got)
I have not much time x converting any more …
But is just a matter of personal like of every one…
    My thoughts..
    Best…

  4. Darren Hatley says:

Nice looking figures, I especially like it that these are based on characters from movies like the Clint Eastwood figure. You dont see that very often in toy soldiers. Ok they arean’t perfect with big weapons ETC but still nice.

  5. ed borris says:

I think Tuco is really well done, pistols can be replace if they look too big up close and personal. Overall I like them.

  6. ed borris says:

I can do that, but you’d have to select what color you want them painted.

    • George Albany says:

I’m thinking I might be interested in these fellows (and gal) if you think you could replace the weapons with ones that are more to scale. If you still have my e-mail, let me know if you could do it and how much you’d charge. Oh, and maybe do something about Clint’s hat too????

  7. Mike Kutnick says:

I’m wondering if that Winchester could be shaved off and a Timpo Winchester glued in instead? The Mexican would work better in a “Magnificent Seven ” set up. Tucco never had a bandolier in the movie. Angel Eyes needs a holster on his left, no big deal to carve one off a spare figure and glue it on. Just my thoughts. Any new Western figures are welcome in my collection.

  8. Wayne W says:

Maybe it’s “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” Clint borrowing Dirty Harry’s pistol?

  9. bill nevins says:

So you get 4 figures for 29.14 that you then have to carve, trim and replace pieces on.

    Do I have that right?

    • ed borris says:

If you buy them in the first place and want them to look better. I’d consider it just for the Mexican bandit figure or Tuco if you prefer. They are those interesting type figures that I gravitate towards anyway. They have a certain appeal to them although not perfect. As a wise man once said, to each his own.

  10. ed borris says:

Wonder if old Angel Eyes is missing the first joing of his right middle finger?

  11. Mike Kutnick says:

One final thought, that pistol that “Tuco” has, that could be a nine shot LeMat revolver, the same that Johnny Ringo has with an extra shot gun barrel under the other barrel. If it is then it’s in scale, that was a huge hand gun.

  12. Lynn Graves says:

It looks like the rifle would be very easy to replace by the way her hands are positioned .

  13. ed borris says:

Yeah that gun is so big no way she can get her hands all the way around it.

  14. Mark T. says:

All her guns are very big, but the rifle is downright ridiculous. Must be a Warhammer influence. I’d try to carve it out and get a TSSD carbine in there: http://www.sdsoldiers.com/DSC004749.JPG

I don’t mind Eastwood’s narrow-brimmed hat, as the one he wore in the movies wasn’t that much larger, but his pistol looks really odd, both in size and design.

I really like the Tuco figure and don’t mind his pistol. Lee Van Cleef is alright, too. I am pretty sure I will get these from Warhansa ASAP.

Have you guys seen their 28mm Modern Adventurers and Mercs line? If they could scale these up to 54 or 60mm I would buy them in a second!

When I get these figures I am going to leave the way they are. I need now someone to do a Paladin figure. It will be interesting if this company will do other figures in 1/32 scale.

    • ed borris says:

I think you could carve that6 huge rifle out of their pretty easy, her other guns I’d leave as they are. Kind of makes me want to go mountain climbing.

    • Jon Burk says:

Looks like a 30 or 40 pound rifle, but she’s a healthy young woman. But I wouldn’t want to go hauling that thing around! It’s beyond an elephant gun!
The character sculpt is great; she’s the western version of the Japanese Pink Women Soldiers.

  15. Mark T. says:

Paladin would be great. He was on TV before my time, but I love the reruns on the Western channel. Richard Boone is a great western tough guy. Great theme song, too.

I’d like to see them make sets of The Professionals and The Wild Bunch!

    • Jon Burk says:

I’d get a Paladin figure since his Western is my favorite. I also discovered the show in reruns. I had read about it in a book covering Western Movies and TV Shows, which listed as one of the best shows ever. It was called a thinking man’s western, which it is. I also like seeing how many character actors I can recognize. No one would ever again make a show with characters named “Hey Boy” and “Hey Girl” although the characters are sympathetically portrayed. Palladin trusts and relies on them and they sometimes had episodes with large roles.

I also liked Richard Boone in Hec Ramsey, John Wayne’s Alamo and The Shootist. He was a tough guy, whether as the bad guy or the good guy; he played both sides well.

  16. Gary Binder says:

As a “gun nut” I dislike the huge weapons, but the figure sculpts look generally good. I realize that there are limits to plastic molding and that no figure will be “perfect” but has ANYBODY who makes plastic “western” figures ever taken a good look at the Colt Single Action Army? Also known as the Peacemaker, or the Model 1873, etc. the weapon is constantly poor rendered. Many real westerners and gunfighters used other types but the Colt 1973 is the most common weapon seen in Hollywood westerns and TV productions. The pistol is graceful and well balanced. It came in various barrel lengths, and the shell ejector is at the 4 o’clock position, not under the barrel as constantly molded. Manufacturers usually don’t do much better on the Civil War era Colts and Remingtons. I realize that these are “toys” but over the years I have found that it takes about the same amount of time and effort to do a crappy job as it does to do the job right.

    • ed borris says:

Yeah I don’t how how he did so well on the figures and screwed up the guns so bad. I’m no gun nut, just a regular psychopath, but even I can tell they are horrible.

  17. Erwin says:

Definitely the guns were intentional left as that by artist and maker. Were produced in pupose as seen.
    Very simple.
So either u like as that and buy as that or buy and fix it w your preferred guns…
    Or don’t buy at all.
    My thoughts.
    Best…

  18. Daniel Murphy says:

I don’t know anything about “cold-cast soft urethane resin,” but is it possible that the maker was concerned that smaller, thinner, (and more accurate) guns might break off more easily?

  19. Mark T. says:

For Billy Hill and anyone else who has ordered direct from Warhansa: They have an unusual way of submitting an order. You use the catalogue as is customary, but then at the end instead of submitting the order, you get a notification that they will get back to you and let you know if the item is in stock. How long does it take for them to get back to you? I put in an order on Saturday.

    • Mark T. says:

Yury from Warhansa got back to me the next day and I placed the order. I mentioned that I thought his modern mercenaries and adventurers line would be great sellers if he scaled them up to 1/32 and did them in soft plastic. He told me he does indeed want to do that but of course, it will take a lot of time and money. They are very nice figures. I really hope he can do it. They would be perfect for modern war and post apocalyptic scenarios: http://warhansa.com/index.php/katalog/modern_adventurers_mercs.html

  20. Lynn Graves says:

Received my figures today in brown! How wonderful with a Aliens cannon in the woman’s hands!

  21. Lynn Graves says:

Received mine in tan this week. Fabulous figures!

    • ed borris says:

Are the weapons really that big or was it just the way they looked in the picture?

      • Mark T. says:

I got my tan set the other day, but they look more like Hershey Bar brown.

The guns are indeed oversized, but they don’t look quite as HUGE in real life. The figurres are made of a very nice rubbery plastic that seems quite durable. Flexibility in weapons and limbs might be a problem for painters, though.

My favorite figure is the Eli Wallach character. There is actually a bit of difference in size between the four figures. Eli and the woman are about 54mm while Clint and Lee Van Cleef are closer to 60mm. Placed alongside other western figures like Airfix, Reisler and Paragon (minus the Paragon mountainous bases), Clint looks like a 6 1/2 to 7 footer.

I like the Clint Eastwood figure, but the size of the gun makes him have to take second place after the Austin version of the Man With No Name.

The woman’s (Salma Hayek) oversize rifle is not as overwhelming in real life, and with a little imagination it could pass for a lever action shotgun. If you really don’t like it, a little clever knife work could cut it down to size easily or it could be removed altogether and replaced with a smaller firearm.

All in all, I definitely like these figures and plan to buy more Warhansa soldiers in the future.

  22. Carl Castoro says:

Hi Paul and the fellas. I am looking for 54mm Marx (?) horse harnesses. I saw them in brown, and they look great. Any help would be appreciated. Also looking for the Imex caisson riders, 2 Union and 2 Confederate. They came in the Imex Caisson/Limber set. Thanks, Carl Castoro
