Larry Patterson Western Civilan Figures More this we have some more photos of his work. This time the photos are from Bill Nevins’ collection. Bill got a wide varied of civilans to populate his western town. One of the things I have said one of the weakness of the western town was not enough civilans to mix with your cowboys. Larry remedied that situation with many interesting figures.
Larry Patterson Western Civilan Figures More Photos
The first photo shows a number of civilan figures. the second one is a bartender that many people have acquired for their saloons. I like the couple and the woman with daughter all dressed up. This
This photo shows a copy of the T Cohn blacksmith with a different hammer. Next to it is a man drinking. If Marx had done a figure like that parents would have complained. The fourth figure is black woman with an umbrella. This is era of history overlooked. A book by William Katz “Black Women of the Old West” covers this little known part of history. The final figure on the right could be used as a man being held up or leading a congergation.
We have some historical and fictional figure in this group. the second one from the left is Will Bill Hickok the famous law man. To his right is Clint Eastwood as the Man with No Name. do you recognize the other figures?
Photography was an intergal part of the of the old west. One way photographer made money was selling photos of dead crimals. The other figure is a newsboy.
Here we have various action poses. The second one from the left could be used as a gambler upset with someone.
We have a store clerk with some of his goods and two people taking baths.
The last photo is of various cowboys shot or dying.
I think the guy on the right end of the Eastwood/Wild Bill row is Billy the Kid,
The caption to the last photo is “You be good boys and don’t you play with guns”.
Great stuff!
Hi Christian. I watched all your shows! Wonderful. Great figures, reviews and stories. Sorry you haven’t time to make more and as often. One question. Do you have any interest in American Civil War figures or displays? I think you would do a terrific presentation for ACW events. Looking forward to more vids from you. Stay well, Sir! Carl
I do have the Wild Bill figure.
Hi Everyone. Sorry, this has nothing to do with the thread, but it is recent, so…does anyone have BMC ACW Andersonville figures? Specifically the figure leaning on a cane, wearing slouch hat. I would like to purchase 2 of these. Tried the ebay and other sites, and I don’t want the whole set. Thanks, and sorry again for introducing a new topic in the middle of a discussion. Carl
Great nice work.
I like the photographer most .
Very nice ! Would like to see photos of the figures being sculpted ,always like to see people’s work techniques !
Mark that is good idea-point.
Seen the steps process of art.
Thanks for sharing these figure photos, Bill! Are they 60mm? I especially like the figures in the line with the blacksmith. Love that guy with the bottle, how you can you have a saloon without somebody relieving his thirst? The carpetbagger has the great detail of the extra broad-brimmed flat crowned hat. very nice! I’ve read that black cowboys were pretty common, but black women in the west is indeed a neglected topic. Nice to see a one of a kind figure done in that vein. The man witth his hands up could be facing a a lynch mob or town council telling them to “Simmer down!” Or maybe a politician, orator or actor gesturing to the crowd.
What a great crop of late nineteenth century civilians! Some could also work for gold rush era 49ers or American Civil War. The blacksmith would have even a wider appeal from 18th to 20th centuries.
These are GREAT. I wish they were readily available. Lots of uses for them and some great conversion possibilities, too. I missed the boat on these.
As always Larry makes some of nicest figures that have been produce in plastic. I have the great pleasure off having some of his figures representing a Custer staff meeting before the Little Bighorn. Another really neat set of outhouses from Larry that compliment the buildings in m y western town plus several western figures. Can’t have too many of his fine figures. Dennis
Really need to know how I can purchase these Patterson figures
The only way to get Larry’s figures is Ebay as he retired doing his figures.
Carl–I see that in 2016 you were looking for stray BMC/American Andersonville figures. Did you ever get them? If so, I was wondering what you did with them. If you paint or modify them, it would be nice to see photos.
