More From Larry Patterson December 2016 we are back with more photos from Larry. Larry did so many different figures it is amazing. We will have more Western figures then travel to Roman. We will finish up with some Indiana Jones. So have a seat and enjoy.
More From Larry Patterson December 2016 Western
The first photo is a mounted Outlaw Josey Wales. I like that he has the figure with two pistols.
Larry did a series of women and children to go with your covered wagons. This is something that was missing from the Marx Wagon Trian playset.
Larry copied the Marx 54mm Lone Ranger and Tonto cereal premiums. Then Larry took the Lone Ranger figure into a foot figure. I wish he had done a Tonto figure firing a pistol. No maker except for Mexican knock off had Tonto firing a pistol
Larry copied the Marx Johny Ringo figure which collectors had a hard time finding at a reasonable price. He went a step further and created a Cully one of John’s deputy. Cully was played by Mark Goddard who was later in Lost in Space.
For people who wanted a mounted Johnny Ringo figure Larry did that.
Another mounted western figure that Larry did was Shane, I alway felt that it was pity did not include a mounted and foot figure of the character. It was done for cost reason. At least Larry tried to correct that problem.
More From Larry Patterson December 2016 Romans
A different area that Larry improved was making more 54mm Roman civilians for your Marx Ben Hur scene. The photo shows a market scene. I like the stall of women buying bread complete with loaves of bread. Also included is a slave market. Larry did a variety of different people would have been offered for sale. This was an important aspect of Roman society.
More From Larry Patterson December 2016 Indian Jones
Larry sent us of two photos of Indiana Jones dioramas. The first one has Indiana using his whip to swing across a river.
The other scene is Indy standing with his pistol. I had always wished they had done Indy figures in 54mm. they did not as they did not think they would sell.
Females, children, and noncombatant civilian men in general are largely missing in plastic. I was afraid I was going to have to do some sculpting on my own to get a Susannah Dickenson (I’ve done clay sculpts but its been years and at a much larger scale than 54mm); finally bought a metal version from Kings X last visit to San Antonio.
I have a gut feeling if someone would make it they (we) would come… JMO.
This made me drag out all my Western Patterson figures.
Why didn’t I buy more?
What happened to your molds, Larry?
Good question; and I share your regret Bill.
I feel left out. I have been in this hobby since 1989 and for some reason I have no idea who this Larry Patterson is. Please educate me.
P & P products? P & P something went out of business maybe 3 or 4 years ago.
This is all really good stuff. All of this was going on when all I did was WWII, though. Is any of it still available? Is it expensive?
If I remember correctly the common foot guys were over $5.00 a figure, but not much chance of remembering correctly. I know they weren’t cheap though.
You remember correctly, Ed; some of the more complex poses could be more.
Well, I guess I remember better than I thought.
Awesome figures !
I must admit that I am the proud owner of the standing 54mm Lone Ranger and Tonto plus in a complicated trade I did with another collector for a Wyatt Earp Dodge City playset in a Nostalgia box I ended up with all four of Larry’s Gunsmoke figures plus his Johnny Ringo copy.
