Plastic Figure Roundup November 2016

Plastic Figure Roundup November 2016 is going to look at some of the  figures from my collection. These figures are from around the world. My philosphy on collecting figures may be different from yours. I look for interesting figures. This goes back to my childhood when I did stories with my figures. I would look for a unique figure and  build him into a character for my stories.  I carried that over to my collecting looking for something different.

This has let me to find some interesting figures.  One set of figures I picked up has Spanish collectors shaking their head. Another figure I got 25 years ago has been a mystery until just this last week.  I discovered who made it from a listing on Ebay. I purchase the set and it will be in later in the month or next. It is coming from New Zealand.

Plastic Figure Roundup November 2016 Interesting Figures

Plastic Figure Roundup November 2016I believe that I have had this figure up before. I have now identified it as Kinder Egg figure.  It is Sinbad in a series of  five figures done in 1979 Sinbad comes with a sword which is missing. There are two versions of Sinbad one in complete orange. the other figure is in yellow and blue.  The other figures in the series are the genie, Aladdin, Caliph and Scheherazade.

This photo show three crooks that were done in 1990’s. This gave you someone to fight against the police.  I still keep a look out for these figures but have not seen any in recent years. These figures were made in China.  I have a large set I will photograh in the future.

In this photo I have three western figures. The one on the left is a Elastolin.  I like him wth pistol and knife. With the bandolier on him He could  be a renegade.  My very good friend Markus Lechsheid  advised me it is Elastolin Mexican body with cowboy head. Markus said the other two figures are Clairet and the Indian is from East Germany.

He felt that this figure could represent a South Korean soldier the way he is fitted out.  The figure was made in China.  He asked me where I got it.  I replied in a junk box.

Plastic Figure Roundup November 2016 Odds and Ends

I normally do not comment on passing of actors as there are other people who have more knowledge of them.  I did have two meetinga with Robert Vaughn. The first one I gave him the six inch figure of Napoleon Solo from Man from Uncle. He had never seen it before. his knowledge of the various toys with his likeness came only after fans sent them to him.  the other time was after I had seen an episode Law of Plainsman, In it Robert Vaughn played Teddy Roosevelt.  I was impressed by it and told Mr Vaughn. he said he had a copy of it as he had enjoyed the role.

Hat has cancelled their 1/32 scale line of Austrian Napoleonic Troops. They had done a kick starter type of program for them and it did not reach its goal.

Can’t remember where I picked them up but I also have “The Three Crooks”,I repainted the 2 floppy hats as Vietnam figs and the other as an SAS.I REALLY wish a Dollar store style company would put out a bag of Crooks/Rioters to oppose all the bags of Cops/Swat teams/Firemen that are available.

The figure that Erwin said could be a South Korean looks like an unpainted FOV WW2 G.I.

    • Bobby G. Moore says:

Thats what the figure is. He came in a bag of other WW2 G.I.’s and Modern G.I. copies of the FOV figures that came out about six years ago.

        Thanks both Tom and Bobby.
I see figure was taken from, just they change weapon and minor detail.Interesting the original FOV figure was depicted w wrong WW2 pants.A detail I did saw before. Now I can use then in Korea too..
Did you guys know how many poses were copied.?

  3. Daniel Murphy says:

Would the shooting figure be one sold in bags by Caipo?

I have found small buckets of the more modern Caipo/FOV figures, or clones of them, in small buckets at Hobby Town USA and a couple showing up in a TJ Maxx of all places.

That Simbad is hard to get.I think Markus has other pose.
The gangster are part of a large box playset that I saw once w my brother in 90s.
It has more nice poses and vehicles plus building.
Figures are about 60 mm and nice done chinese originally designed figures.
That playset was sold limited here x short time.
I had been hunt x it many years.
Is intersting as mix gangester 30s eras with 70s police and civilian era figures.

  5. Markus says:

Regarding the three western figures the banjo player is done by Clairet. Nice series with a townsman and townswoman plus sitting cowboy emptying a green bottle.
The indian is of eastern german manufacture from a set of paint yourself figures.
No idea if it worked out. Think colors of my set dryed out already at the store before the Berlin wall came down. Third is an Elastolin combo of their mexican and cowboy swoppet line.

Thanks for the correction. I forgot on the base should have told me it was Elastolin. I am not sure if it was part of that deal when I bought all the parts from Detlef in Germany so many years ago. I had fun putting them together.
