Uzbekistan Soviet Sailor Toy Figures  Final Thoughts

To be honest the figures are not the greatest.  You have figures that are interesting on several levels. The figures are from an area you do not expect to find figure being made. It shows that this company is doing figures related to its history the Russian Revolution.

If you are interested in purcahsing these figures you can contact Andrey.

Intersting figures ,cool poses ,but crude detail, like from odd metal mold .
Still nice to hear that figures are coming from countries such Uzbekistan.
For some reason they remain me of Lone Star WW2 RN figures. One of my favorites sailors sets.
Minor correction please. Meaning not offense please!!
These sailors are from the WW2 period; caring post 1930 s uniforms and weapons.
Russian Czarist Imperial navy uniform was not longer in use after 20’s .
Two poses have modern 1941 weapon too.
So the sets would be great to those fan of WW2 to increase the Soviet armies x battles such Sebastopol ,Stalingrad ,Leningrad and others.

I think the figures would look more appealing if they hadn’t been cast in black, which tends to obscure detail. When you set up black plastic toy soldiers on a table, if you just glance at them, they all tend to look like dark blobs. Sometimes, pure white figures tend to have the same effect — it’s not easy to see the detail.

Wouldn’t the above sailor figures look better if they had been cast in gray, creme, tan, medium blue or light blue — anything but black?

I like the guy firing the machine gun, but they are of no real interest to me. I like the idea anyway.

I may get then as I had mention before I like to collect x historians and for rarity. The figures are very intersting as coming from a country that had not plastic toy soldier history.Barrelt metal too.I may use one day in scenes ,but of course not type of well done figures at all.
Still so many of us use the horrible BMC still.
So is not like these are the last of buket.
Uzbekistan had a rich ancient and medieval history, they should explote it too.Any how I bet the person doing this is motivated to sale to the frontiers of former empire and war it was part more resent. Many Russians also live in this country still.I notice a better choice action poses versus previously set.Wish the best in future.

I like the machine gunner too, and especially the somewhat unique machine gun itself, which seems typical of the Russian/Soviet machine guns — the same as in the Atlantic WWII 54mm Soviet set, if I’m recalling correctly — maybe it’s the Atlantic Lenin/Trotsky Russian Revolution set I’m thinking of. But I think it’s a nice touch to place it on sand bags.

The photo showing the Uzbekistan figure placed next to the Airfix figure reminds me of just how superior the Airfix WWII poses and sculpting often were. It also shows how a lighter color helps highlight the detail.

  6. Brian Johnson says:

Intersting subjects I wish more companies would do Naval landing parties of various countries from Late 19th Century up to WW2 (AIP fills some of the need)but I also wish EB or Publius would clone the poses before any would show up in my Toy Soldier Box !!LOL

Interesting idea and poses; sad they are so poorly realized. Hopefully, the output will improve if they can keep going. I agree with black and pure white as far as colors go; I guess that’s what Krylon is for. I think I’ll pass on these but keep an eye out for future releases – if any.

I think figures are quite 54 mm.
What make it looks taller are the 4 to 5 mm tall base. The figure pose choose x pose has head up too.
AIRFIX detail is far superior. However Airfix mess a lot w weapon and correlation of size versus figure.
Example in figure above the PPS 41 is too small wile the other figure show a more realistc size versus figure and correct barrel.
Atlantic WW2 Maxin MG is a nice piece but too big x figure manning it .Again pose and machine gun are quite detailed
    Of course.
Atlantic Revolution set has another machine more in scale.
