Odds Ends: Figures Other Things October 2016 it is another new month with some interesting items. We will be looking at some interesting figures including a figure that might be a conversion. So let’s get started.
Odds Ends: Figures Other Things October 2016 Thank You
First I want to thank all of you for giving us one of our highest views in a single month. Laurie and I have been please with the way Stadsstuff has grow over the last five years. What I love more is the amount of comments we get on an article. One posting has over 20 comments so far. There other forums and blogs for our hobby who would be happy if they got a couple comments.
I have to thank the people who have helped me in this endeavor. Those people include Ed Borris. Andrey Buslov, Greg Liska, Bill Nevins and Erwin Sell to name a few. These people are among many others who have help with information to make this web site. They have contributed through articles or photos. Also we appreciate your comments and your encouragement of other people’s projects.
The web site is a lot of hard work. I can not do just a twenty-two word missive. You must met certain criteria for the search engines to notice your work. This requires you to have photos and your post formatted in certain ways. At times I have to do research either enhance an article or check facts before posting an article.
There is always room for improvement and I will be working on that. So again I want to thank you again.
Odds Ends: Figures Other Things October 2016 Figures
I recently picked up a lot of figures. The lot of figures had some interest items. I saw this palm tree and thought it would be good for a scene.
I was putting a palm tree into the mound when I noticed something the previous owner did. He had put two human heads into the mound. I would have love to known why the previous owner did that.
Other unusual items in the lot were a metal skunk, a ceramic woman. a Plasty civilian and a Preiser engineer. The Plasty civilian is a big surprise as I had only seen them with a cable car. I checked with my very good friend Markus Leckscheid of Germany. He said that the Plasty civilian figures are hard to find in Germany. Markus felt they may have been done for tourist areas of Germany. I will keep the figure and place a pistol in his hand and use as a partisan.

One other figure from the lot was a mounted Marx Cavalry. When I first saw it I said oh great a damaged figure. I put the figure on the table and realized it was possible conversion. Here you have a figure knocked off his horse firing up at a mounted figure. I don’t know if it is a conversion or a mold defect. Whatever it is,the figure is an interesting pose and he sold.
Our veterinary had a bake sale to raise money for bulletproof vests for police dogs. What we did not know the bake sale also was selling books and other items. One of the items was this sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office is made in China. It is a cheap item to cash in on the Playmobil market.
The sheriff’s office does not have a roof or back wall. You could easily make those item out of plastic sheet or cardboard. The set came with a desk and chair that are not shown. The building will work with 60mm figures. The only thing missing from the set are two posts for the awning. I will keep the building.
Markus sent me thethree figures above. The Marx West Point Cadets painted Warriors of the World style are soft plastic. The figur are marked Hong Kong. I always wondered if they went to soft plastic at the end due complaints on the hard plastic breaking. The other figure was made in either France or Spain. I do not know more about but I am sure we will find out soon.
Update
Here the other photo I took of this figure.
Nice Finds.
It is interesting where you found stuff, it always amazing were you can get surprises today.
The sheriff office building(missing roof and furniture plus to center poles is part of same set houses sold at dollar store not long ago that I send post here.Is one of three models. Posting mane(Dollar store western buildings)
http://www.stadsstuff.com/?p=5762.
I had see it still in eBay once a wile but not any more in dollar store around me.
The FFL figure with banner is made in Spain late 70’s early 80’s copied of original French made. These FFL and regular French 50/60s soldiers are often found in bag with mix STARLUX ,Guilbert and Quiralux cloned mold cheap bags still in Spain and sold on EBay too. Figures poses are in plenty action poses too and about 51/54 mm scale. Also under Ferral French toy brand distribution were sold too.
I got plenty and sold several lots ,two mint in bags no long ago.
I can pose full set poses pictures later if need.
For me more rare figure is the small resin/composition type figure in round base. I barely see in PLASTY civilian figure here, that is indeed a rare surprise in good condition.
Never see any MARX HK in soft plastic, only German(HEIMO)and made in Holland.
That is a nice hard to see interesting pair.
I have had other soft plastic Marx Warrior of the World figures I believe the Civil War figures.
ADMIN
Interesting never see then painted in soft plastic from HK.
wonder if a later RADO after Marx dissolving or still under Marx production in cases.
Paul, that appears to be a hot water conversion on the sitting/firing Marx cavalryman.
That would be my guess.
It was the only figure in the lot that was a possible conversion.
Looks more like a conversion of the mounted/shooting pose.
However it was achieved, it now makes an excellent Custer’s Last Stand figure. It would look especially good on the TSSD Last Stand Hill.
I felt the same way when I set the figure down on the table. I feel the person thought the same as you.
Does the palm small island may be a cupcake decor ??
I agree if Marx figure do nit have any cut Mark looks very bended as by hot water process.
Len, Yes it is the mounted shooting pose. He got boiled and bent in half, making him the sitting/firing pose.
Now that bending is hard to do, wonder if done or cut and glue back .
Hard to tell from pic but I bet Paul check it .I mean not much space in figure to bend that much ,I will try one of mine and see how bad or good he goes, hope I do not end with one half off ,I will use the original. I do not have reissues.
I always wonder too if this pose with hand close to belt/stomach mean holding horse harness or being shoot/wounded in stomach by arrow or else.
I think it could be used either way, because of that hand pose it well looks like wounded seating back after being dismounted.
Erwin, I think that the arm is bent to hide where the figure was either cut in half or bent using the hot water method.
Bill.
Marx original pose has left arm as that.Moulded to body waist or a bit high upper stomach.
The other mounted pose of this set is one w arms separated.
I out up the other photo I took of the figure. See if that helps
I would like to see the figure turned over so that I can see the back.
Looks like a mold defect figure or someone really heated him up and bent him over. I don’t see any cut.
Yes I do not see it either, person may had done so by bending legs bottom section as more easy to bend than upper massive body part.
Nice though!!!
I’m glad stadstuff had grow so much and every year more views and commenters. I find this more fun than most were barely few posting in true plastic not small scales and few talking.
Congrats on it Stads and wish best in many years to come.
This and some international I do are my best…
