Bill Nevins’ Cunnyngham Civil War Conversions Bill’s Words
Here are some easy to do Cunnyngham ACW head swaps. I like these figures and since you get 2 of the same pose, in each bag, why not add some variety to the CSA. I use a single edged razor blade to remove the heads. The key is never to press. Let the blade do the work. Go slowly and angle the cut, so that you don’t cut anything besides the neck. Be aware of shoulders, hats and weapon tips. It’s very easy to misjudge and slice off he top of a shoulder.
Bill Nevins’ Cunnyngham Civil War Conversions Final Thoughts
I like what Bill has done. These are easy conversions to do. Let us know what you think of these figures.
Easy though, great idea to make new poses quick.
I like it…
C figures are quite great poses w a bit more cutting I bet Bill could do more.
Too bad the brand did not continue…
I chopped the crap out of some and made them Alamo guys. I may have sold them already not sure.
I’ve been thinking I could make some great use of the Paragon heads with the extra packages I bought a few years back; just have to drag them out.
I did do a head swap with the Paragon figures , the Alamo defenders heads. I also cut one of the sitting guys in half at the waist. There was like a cylinder of plastic inside and the detail was like a shell covering the cylinder. They cut up pretty nicely not quite as hard as TSSD figures.
When I get around to it, I’m going to remove all the Paragon Cavalry Troopers heads.
I’ll replace them with a larger size head. I was thinking of then using the Paragon Troopers heads, on some Marx recast 54 mm cavalrymen.
I think that the Paragon will look good with Marx recast ACW and Cavalrymen heads.
I may mix in some of Beau’s ACW figures heads, too.
So many possibilities!
Looks great! Some of the swapped heads look more natural than the original one.
My favorite is the converted seated rifleman last in the top row. He looks like he has just made his shot and is checking out the damage done.
Good eye on that pose; you’re right. Thanks.
