Peter Bergner’s Danish Flea Market Finds are some finds from our very good friend Peter Bergner. I have know Peter for over 25 years. We first met when I took a trip to Germany. I went to the Nuremburg Toy Fair just before I got married. After the toy fair I had planned to roam around Frankfurt Germany. Before I went to Germany, I received a letter from Peter to come visit him. I decided to take his offer up.
So after the toy fair I went up to Cologne where Peter lived. Peter met me at the train and took me back to his home. We had a wonderful time. The high point for me was able to share dinner with Peter and his parents. His parent did not speak English and I could only speak a few words of German. Still they seem to understand me because my Pennsylvania German background.
I had a wonderful time. Laurie and I went over for the first German plastic show. We were able to return the favor when Peter came to the United States. Back then the first stop was Toys R Us where he would get toys to ship back to Germany.
Sadly things have changed as the internet made those trips unnecessary. Peter decide this year to close his shop. He is now concentrating on his family and human jobs.
Peter Bergner’s Danish Flea Market Finds Photos
Despite giving up the shop, Peter has not totally quit the business. Peter still has the Herne Show which is held twice a year. This the premier plastic show in Germany. Also Peter is still gathering items for figure boxes which we have showcase before. Peter did a vacation with his family to Denmark. Peter found time to check the flea markets and came with some interesting finds.
Here we can see most of Peters finds.
The next show various Reisler figures. Reisler was the major plastic toy company and made a variety of figures. The Danish Guards Band are equivalent to Britains Guard Band.
Peter found a nice lot of farm animals and China swoppet western mostly horses.
This photo got a nice collection of Britains motorcycles among other finds.
A close-up of the Britains motorcycles plus a rescue dingy and torpedo.
The above photo shows figures from Crescent, Britains, Timpo and more. Most of these will go into his figure boxes.
The last photo shows Reisler figures including a stretcher party.
