Stad’s Replicants Figures

Here are the two figures we did first Roman with sword and shield.

The second one was the woman kneeling firing  the pistol. We sell two of the same pose for  $6.99 plus $2.85 postage U.S. The figures are in various colors, but we are only selling the figures in blue for now.

I see that Larry Patterson has put up a retirement message on his web site. He says he will no longer be taking orders. Wow, that’s like quitting cold turkey. I know he’s been mentioning retirement for a while now.

Got my Romans yesterday, I like them they took a spot on my mantel.

I also got the Eldon firing rifleman, the lefthanded grease gun will be in the mail soon, probably Saturday.

Sunday is the Kane County Antique Toy Show, hope we get some decent weather it’s turned colder and rainy here lately. Usually I am able to find some decent items at a good price, seems to be hit and miss there, either you get stuff really cheap or they want an arm, a leg and your first born for mediocre stuff. Would be nice to run into another couple Guerilla Warfare sets in sealed bags or that Johnny Ringo in a group of loose figures, maybe a Custer in a carry all set or the Gunsmoke character figures. Fat chance huh?

Have a good time at Kane county. I almost got there many years ago. A friend of mine was in the movie “Home Alone” and a bunch of us were going to drive out and stay at the friend’s apartment. The friend got pushed out of the movie for Daniel Stern so we did not go.
I will get to a couple of flea markets and I am going to try to get there early. It is not easy as I have take the dogs for a walk and feed them in the morning. Laurie has one day this week that she goes in at a later time so she will take care of the boys.

Glad you like the figures. I like the Eldon, a shame they were not 54mm.
As what you can find who knows? I still a few surprises when I get out.

The show has gradually shrunk in size, but they have that new buidling so most of the vendors are inside now only a couple of the animal sheds are open for sellers. Sometimes I walk away with nothing others I buy more then I intended to, it’s a crapshoot.

Eldon reminds me of the old Revell Monogram figures, they’re first set, very detailed, nice oses, just too darn small.

I haven’t ever been to the Kane Show, but I do expect to attend OTSN again this year. In fact, made my reservations last week. I’m going specifically to pick up Barzso’s new Battle of Lexington playset with the injection molded British and Colonials, as well as TSSD’s new surprise playset they’ve been promising. With the price of shipping being as high as it is, the cost of driving and hotel is substantially off set by being able to pick up the new offerings directly at the show. Expect I will once again see Ed Borris. But before OTSN comes Joseph Saine’s Michigan Show in July, which always has Hobby Bunker, MarxMan, and Allan Ford in attendance.

Joe Seine and Rick Keller usually attend the Kane County show, infact I should be making some special purchases from Joe. There’s usually some good plastic to be had at Kane County. By Sunday many dealers are looking to unload some items so often you can get some really good deals. It’s only about 25 minutes from me, so I have to go.

I will be at OTSN for sure, it’s 20 minutes from my house. I believe I will have a room on Friday and Saturday

  6. Don Perkins says:

I envy anyone who lives just 20 minutes from OTSN. But like you, Ed, I would be tempted to go ahead and get a room there anyway, just to be in the center of action Friday and Saturday.

  7. Ed Borris says:

Need someplace to display my stuff during room trading, even though I probably won’t have all that much, but enough to make some money. I finally tabulated the Indy trip and after all was said and done, the whole deal cost me $50.00 out of pocket including hotel, meals and gas. That wasn’t too bad.
