Stengel’s Vietnam Marine Figures Discontinued as report in the latest issue of Playset magazine. The reason that they were cancel was according to John Stengel JR. was some mold problems. The last of the sets are being delivered. John Stengel JR said that other sets are using a new process are in the works.
If you are owe the Vietnam figures or any other from John, you should contact John. I have no phone number or email to past along at this time.
Well I least we got the Mars and TSSD if they come!!
So for now MARS Vietnamese have only the TM and clones/variation out there plus few others as well some CW soldiers to fight with. I got the ARCO and few others GI’s and Rambo style . So I can wait more still x future release for now.
For those who got the MIA Stengel’s figures be assure you have now a collectible-to become vintage soon set.
So congrats!!!
This is a very curious hobby!!WOW!!
I got mine as well as the Civil War figures including Armistead.
I paid for and never received the figures. I remember seeing an email and/or phone contact for John here on this site. If anyone can find it, or has the information I would appreciate the opportunity to receive my sets, or have my money refunded.
Thank you in advance.
Jack, I believe his office phone #, taken from his business card, is (347)534-5245.
I also believe John has an email address: TheMarxMan@nyc.rr.com
I’m a bit saddened by this. I’m not collecting in that era, but it deserves the attention paid to it. Most true Vietnam War vets are not bothered by the making of figures at all, but rather excited about it (at least all the ones I know). I hope this new process works and he resurrects these figures.
Nick of TSSD is a Viet Nam War vet and he’s making a set.
Don,
Thanks. I am a frequent customer of John’s, and I usually run into him at shows here in the Midwest. I have missed the last four local shows due to conflicts. I will contact him and hopefully get this resolved.
Austin Miniatures also has plans for Vietnam U.S. Marines.
Whenever I’ve called John at the above phone number, he has always either answered the phone or returned my call within a day.
If for some reason, however, that number has changed or doesn’t work, John’s business card (which he hands out at shows) gives the following address:
John Stengel
72-50 66th Street
Glendale, NY 11385
I actually think John intended, rather than go to the trouble and expense of mailing, was just intending to hand out the orders at shows where he usually sees all the customers he took orders from.
That’s where he showed up with mine when I let him know I would be at the Indiana show.
