New Figure Production Updates looks at some of the new figures coming out. New Figure Production has become an important part of this hobby as it gives us figures we dreamed about. We have information from three companies: Paragon, Lod Enterprises and Engineer Bassevitch. I am sure you will find this information interesting.
New Figure Production Updates Paragon
As it has been reported on several sites, Paragon has out now in limited quantities Firing line. This set is for the American Civil War. This set is four unique firing poses three standing and one kneeling on his knees. The figures come in blue or gray. Each set comes with twelve figures in the four poses. There also twelve additional swappable heads. Each set sell for $22.00.
Paragon also noted that their Mexican Regulars are almost ready. He is hoping that these figures to be ready for the OTSN.
The owner of Paragon gave more insight on his future plans on the Hobby Bunker forum. As some of our readers do not have access to this forum we are sharing his insights. He wants to do one or two more American Civil War sets. Possible subjects are dismounted cavalry and mounted cavalry. These future sets will depend on how well the first two Civil War sets sell. As he noted it is a big investment.
On the Alamo front he wants to do another set of defenders and then one or two more sets of Mexicans. This I am sure will make the Alamo collectors happy.
As to other plans Paragon wants to do Plains Indians. He has photos up in his coming attractions. Once this is all done he would like to do a line of French and Indian Wars Woodland Indians and colonists. The colonist would be based on the movie Drums along the Mohawk.
This is a lot of work planned. Many of these sets are years off before they see the light of day. Each set take a year to make and release.
New Figure Production Updates Lod Enterprises
Ken Ciak of Lod enterprises posted this picture on his various social media accounts to let people know that everything is moving along on his second major release Trojan War chariots. If everything hold right collectors will see these figures at OTSN.
New Figure Production Updates Engineer Bassevitch
Finally we have a photo of one of the masters for one of their future releases Slavic Troops of the Early Middle Ages. The set will have at least ten different figures. We hope to get more of the photos to share with you. No date has been set. Figures can be changed for various reasons.
A big part of the reason I’m especially looking forward to attending OTSN this year is to get my hands on, in person, Ken’s LOD Trojan War chariots — an outstanding addition to his War At Troy line.
Paragon’s figures are always exceptional, but I can’t help but wish his dismounted cavalry, Plains Indians, and French & Indian War lines were coming first.
And as to Engineer Bassevitch, one look at that photo of the Slavic Early Middle Ages figure, and all I can say is “WOW”. That makes an early stop at Steve Weston’s room in Chicago mandatory, and is one more incentive to get to Chicago this year. It’s amazing that such great sculpting will come out in soft plastic.
I obtained a set of Paragon troopers, mainly to study the design of the horse holder figures with separate reins and flag. I decided to replace their original heads with Conte ACW heads. I found that the Paragon heads twist off easily without cutting and leave a good base for the new heads which attached well with Krazy Glue gel & required no pins. They also painted up nicely for gray CSA troops. Much happier with conversions with superior Conte heads. Just my personal preference. If others prefer the original Paragon heads, that’s less work for you. 🙂
I saw the EB prototypes and they can well be used for any European late barbarian/roman empire wars till XI century eras as Viking or any body, few poses looks very civilian peasant alike ,others more warriors. They carry less east European Russian stereotype clothing. So more generic x rest Europe; could match very well with TSSD barbarians and Pluvius Vikings /Normand as well Conte too.
Their(EB) scale range, price and amount figures/poses per set plus plastic quality till last time was much better than Plubius.
Plubius last Indian sets were very detail but I guess went a bit off art pro Miguel Angelo this time.(They try hard to emulate Panini,Nardi and Fontanini style.) Plastic material would be fix but price may increase too.-Nice!!!
