East Coast Toy Soldier Show Date Is Confirmed  Bill Lango

Here is what Bill Lango the show promoter had to say.

I just received confirmation from FDU that the date of this year’s show will be Sunday, October 30th.  The date will work well for us because there is no NYC Marathon on this date and no other toy shows in the area on this date, so we won’t be facing any competition and visitors to our show from NYC will not be facing Marathon traffic nightmares.

Five weeks after OTSN. And just think, many dealers and collectors are fortunate enough to go to both.

  2. Bill Nevins says:

It’s been about a dozen years since I’ve been to that show.
I just may give it a shot this year.

  3. erwin says:

Date is better and w out competition much better, hope weather is good too, I remember 2014 weather was cold blowing and snowing x us dealers least in early dark morning hours when we arrive.

  4. Don Perkins says:

Ever since I attended my first show (OTSN, 1988, where, incidently, I was ultimately able to personally meet Paul Stadinger, Bill Lango, Tom Terry, Rusty Kern, Jim McGough and many others), going to toy soldier shows has been one of my small, but great, pleasures in life.

  5. ed borris says:

The need a Las Vegas show. I think they should do OTSN twice a year.

Of those 5 guys you mentioned I have only met 1 of them, maybe two, not sure who Bill Lanago is exactly.

    • Don Perkins says:

Bill Lango is the organizer/sponsor of the East Coast Toy Soldier Show in New Jersey, which if I’m not mistaken is the second largest toy soldier show in the U.S., pacing only OTSN. Formerly, he was the founder & editor of “Toy Soldier” magazine. If you lived back East, Ed, you and Mr. Lango would be great buddies.

  6. ed borris says:

I don’t think I ever met him. From this forum I think I met only Kent, you and Wayne. I’ve been in Len’s room at OTSN but I don’t think we actually ever met.

  7. Erwin says:

At Hackensack I only had met from here in this forum with Paul, of course many times and Bill Lango as well. Bill is a very enthusiastically nice character and very easy going ,same time fast and very diligent organizing all shows he has done .At end shows if you are dealer he will walk by every stand and talk short reviews and thoughts w you.
I wish he could do it x long more.

  8. Erwin says:

In 2003 OTSN and only met for first and only time with Steve Weston and his wife and had a nice short talk .I saw few others who I know from NY ,but not from this forum.
In fort Lauderdale show ,now done at West palm beach I met few others and I believe Kent sold to me there or I may be confuse as I just to buy from him in 90’s by mail most time. Sorry…I forgot as I only went to that show few times in 90’s and was way more with old metal than plastic. Stone Castle was there once but not repeated.

  9. Bill Nevins says:

I know all of the East Coast pioneers and I remember when the show was held at Schutzen Park. I stopped going when the Ebay frenzy hit.

But I might trek there this year, just to meet Erwin, who I don’t think that I’ve ever met.
I may have seen him with Paul, but that’s about it.

Who knows? We’ll see how it works out.
