Andy Keliar has a question painting tin figures.
Here it is
Hi Paul,
I have a hobby question for you or the forum.
Just got some really nicely detailed hand made tin cowboy figures from Ukraine via eBay.
Question is: can I paint them with water base acrylic paint or will I be sorry if I do this?
Thanks,
Andy Keliar
Can any help Andy out
Ahoy there. Ive painted some metal figures using lead and tin. They are holding up reall good so far after being cast back in the 80,s. You may want to test the paint first on one of the figures after priming the figure.good luck ,nemosfan
Thanks, friend. Doing it!!
Prime the figures with matt white spray paint
Once it is dry it will take paints
Are the figures from the ‘Tin Warriors’ series viewable on line ?
Here’s two I bought (also looking at the seller’s items that Erwin posted):

When I bought the $45 guy, he was only $21!! Guess the seller thinks he’s got a hot item, like recast plastic Arabs or something!! Create demand & raise price!!
A lot sellers become ambitious.
I notice it.
In car dealers when a model sale a lot they often increse price x next models…

Speaking of “ambitious sellers”, I like this (off topic) one:
$75 starting bid for 2 empty Marx bags & $22 to ship???
Must be VERY nice bags….
