Playmobil Stockade Fort

Playmobil Stockade Fort
Billy Hirn  has put together  a Playmobil Stockade Fort  for you to enjoy.

Playmobil Stockade Fort Description

Playmobil Stockade Fort

Here are some pictures of the Playmobil stockade fort.  Before I go any further,  allow me to emphasize that I added 3 extra pairs of walls to the fort in these pictures.  To avoid potential disappointment,  please take a good look at the first picture to see what comes with the basic set.

The extra walls made this into a sizable enclosure with plenty of room for barracks,  stable,  etc.  I pulled out a few figures for these impromptu pictures and the size of the fort began to suck in more and more of them.  You can see Britains Deetail,  Marx and recast Airfix manning the fort.  The Indians are mainly BMC,  but there are a few Marx  and Processed Plastic pieces as well.  There are also a couple of Atlantic buffalo hunters running for their lives.

I like to add Playmobil items to my collection whenever I come across something that looks useful.  They are sturdy and there is a Playmobil support system from which you can buy replacement pieces and add-on sets that are not available in stores.  If you shop around,  you can often find them at bargain prices on eBay.

This is what I like to see. Your integration of Britains’ Detail Cavalry with the Marx 7th Cavalry looks great. I especially like those Atlantic Buffalo hunters running for their lives to get inside the gate. As usual, Playmobile always makes a high-quality fort accessory.

Thanks so much for sharing. This type of set-up is exactly what my 5 brothers, 1 sister and I spent half our youth doing. We didn’t worry about scale, make, or whether they were painted, clones or collectible. Set it up, admire it, play it out, clean it up, and then start all over again with a different set-up. All the while, we were using our imaginations, playing out history, and , usually, getting along while out of our parents hair. They loved that part for sure. No wonder they bought us so much stuff. Hmmm.

Nice fort. I’ve seen a lot of Playmobil stuff I thought was impressive – with a little touch-up paint jobs and minor modifications I could use. This just tells me it wouldn’t take as much effort as I thought.

True Wayne, just not sure why the bright colors on the ladder also , to attract kids eyes ?

I think these are toys x kids if course ans colors are x that. But also so many parts that the color instruction often used colors to differentiate easy x kids the finding and location where they going. As les indiccate too the parts also are generic x many toysets as well.
I have few castles and ships top, they are nice and fun.

Billy did a really nice job with his setup. I’ve gotten a few Playmobil forts for their own sake as I enjoy collecting western toy forts, but I don’t mix in 54 mm figures as I personally find them out of scale. However their Egyptian line is great for FFL and ancient warfare setups, and the Roman coliseum set is good for an expanded Ben Hur setup.

Nice! That did what took me many hours of work to do modifying several Mx sets and the Playmobil set looks sturdier. Paul posted pics a long time ago.I did notice the base at the gate. That does need to get painted some color that occurs in nature. Other than that, it’s beautiful.

The bright color on the door and ladder is because they come from a generic mold used in many of their sets. If you check the parts offered on Ebay you could probably find second hand versions in more subdued colors to replace the parts if you bought the fort set.
This is the great thing about Playmobil you can fit the parts together to create stuff for yourself. I made a Foreign Legion fort out of the medieval castle parts.
With all the second hand lots available it is easy to get stuff at reasonable prices.
With a little effort you could create some good realistic scenery but it looks just as good kept with the toy look, as Billys’ great set up shows.
