As mention in his comment our very good friend Mathias noted the horse was incorrect for Acedo that Markus had in his photos . Here is Mathias’ comment again.
Hello,
the horses are from another French manufacturer: Cyrnos. I sent Paul some pictures with the Acedo horse for this Canadian Mountie.
Acedo made a Mexican (we just know one).
Many French toy soldiers brand made some riders with the saddle attached to the guy (in hollow cast, lead, aluminum and plastic).
The maybe cooperation’s between the smaller French companies still remain a mystery to us too but one thing is sure: except Starlux who had its own building production’s line (Plasticobois), the other companies who made castles, farms, ranches, barracks… as La Hotte aux Jouets, Gilaz, Floch, Depreux, Clairbois…(and many others) didn’t make plastic soldiers.
This Acedo could be anterior to the Reamsa catalogue, all the plastic production (often) coming from the metal production (30’s 40’s, 50’s)…
I have added the photos that Mathias sent plus included a comment that came with them.
Best from France here some pictures from the forum of ACEDO Canadian Mountie (with its real horse) and a “true” Mexican made by the firm (the only one I think).
I kind of like the Mexican, too bad about his paint job though. He looks like he should be hanging with Pancho Villa.
Those attached saddle horns look kinda obscene eh LOL.
