Samurai Figures Japan

Samurai figures Japan are the latest find of our very good friend Erwin Sell.  In his past searching  Erwin turned up the elusive Own figures and brought them to the market. Not to rest on his laurels Erwin has these Samurai figures from Japan. Here is what he has to say about them.

Samurai Figures Japan Description

This unique set is part of a larger set of historical war soldiers-Ashigaru and samurai from the 1525-1630 period made in Japan. They are based on a very popular TV series that was run in Japan and Korea in late 90’s and early 2000’s.They were sold individual and also in a large board table playset game case with historical japan wars maps under Bandai brand 

I was able to find some old stock with some poses but not all of the poses in this long discontinued and limited run series made under Bandai license.

This picture shows a comparison of the Furuta on the left with the new figures.

The figures are plastic-PVC material and required some minor “skillful” assembling with a suggest glue for the separated parts. They come fully factory well done painted. The scale should run by exact measure of a figure without a high helmet at about 52 mm, but some figures go over 56 mm.

The bases were done on purpose with rocks and grass field pieces to enhance the depiction of the war scenes. Also they come with an additional base allowing them to move across a flat surface-aka board game  more easily. They were sold loose individual and also in large playset game board cases under different battle historical name .Such BANDAI Samurai Generation Battle of Kawanakajima with 10 figures inside and the round bases are as board game token to be move easy .

They match the first Furuta series made in 1.35 scale and for that I have provided a few Furuta poses to compare in the pictures

I will be selling a few sets of 18 figures in 13 different poses in the configuration shown in the first picture. They will be sold unbuilt inside clear bags or for a nominal fee I will be put together as per special request second option.

Note these figures are discontinued stock that I have found and this will be my only run of them that I will have. So don’t delay.
