Engineer Bassevitch Assyrians, we already have our first hint of the new year. Our good friend Denitz is out there posting photos of these new exciting figures. The Assyrians were in power from 2500 BC until 520 BC when they were conquered by the Persian Empire. The Assyrian Empire was vast at one point they ruled what is now know as Iraq, Syria and part of Turkey. This was know as the region of Mesopotamia. They used iron in their weapons which gave them an advantage over their opponents that were using bronze.
The Engineer Bassevitch Assyrians has 12 figures: Assyrian woman standing, Assyrian man pointing possible leader, Assyrian standing with crooked staff possible a religious leader and Assyrian with club in his left hand ready to strike while holding on to his sword in belt with his right hand. In the fighting poses you have two different Assyrians Bowmen firing the bow. One Assyrian bowman is in heavy armor while the other is not. Then there are sword fighting poses, you have Assyrian running with sword and shield, Assyrian kneeling ready with sword and shield and standing with sword and shield. There are two spear poses. One is Assyrian ready with spear and shield, the other is marching with spear and shield. Finally you have an Assyrian with a sling, which was widely used by ancient armies as it was easy weapon to make and was very effective.
The Engineer Bassevitch Assyrians figures are as always are well sculpted. The figures will be a great companion to Engineer Bassevitch Ancient Jews figures. The Assyrians conquered the ancient Jews and made them part of the Assyrian Empire. The box is nicely illustrated and has a made showing how far the Assyrians ruled.
We can see this will be another exciting year from Engineer Bassevitch. You contact Denitz at this Ebay link
BETTER PHOTO PLEASE?
Whoever is taking these photos should use the common sense of showing the figures SIDE by SIDE so that WE the collectors, can see the POSES CLEARLY!!

Awesome companions for the Jews as admin said, I will think done in purpose x it.And once gain the advantage of short run clearly show how quick and diverse in a year a company could be. As far there enough buyers of course!!
They could be great for early Greece period such as new troy wars figures and may blend with Persian as allied mercenaries too, Babylonian and many others as well.
Set will available in February, so I can’t do better photos before.

Thanks for the links, I am sure the readers will enjoy them.
I agree with Erwin they go with many of the Ancients now available. Even the Archers can be used with TSSD Romans.
Interesting ! Interesting subject !
Like to see what they look like nicely painted !
The sculpting on this set is incredible!! I am really glad that you have been covering the new sets of both Engineer Basevich and Pvblivs who have really been breaking some new ground in 54mm plastic soldiers in the past 24 months or so. Cheers
The ancient generic figures done x playset (David and goliath) by Rainfall Co in early 90’s always remain me of Assyrians or same people because their armor. They blend very well with it if look at them now versus the ones done and showed here from EB. Thank you Admin for publishing FIRST than any body else the pictures and news of these sets. I google often others forum and no where you see the first sets coming as here, specially from around the world. In fact many forum commenters does referring with links from here.
Great job !!!
And I wish you all collectors & family .HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Erwin – I was saying the exact same thing to Brian! My ‘David and Goliath’ ancients are painted copper and I did things like actually put an arrow in the archer’s drawn bow.
Back to these figures – well done and I love stuff that makes the toy soldier collector take in a little History, hope fully spurring them to learn more.
