On Sunday night on the Travel Channel the show Toy Hunter premiered showing toy dealer Jordan Hembrough traveling to Ohio and Florida to acquire toys to resale at the New York Comicon. Jordon acquired some interesting toys plus two rare proto types to help make his goal of $20,000.00 sales at New York Comicon.
This was the second disappointment of the day for me. ( the other being tryingWhite Castle’s food.). The show came off as a rip off of the format of American Pickers with none of the charm. Jordan left me cold and annoyed. (It did not help that I had read an article earlier in the day on Jordan where he called an owner of some Star War Toys anal for keeping his boxes.) Second I was questioning some of the prices he was buying and planning on selling items. The sale of the proto type Boba Feta with firing rocket at the end seem off. Usually a very rare demand item is sold very quickly unless the asking price is too high.
I will pass on this show if it goes to series as it dealing with a niche area of the hobby, while missing the other exiciting parts of the toy hobby.
