Nabisco offered in 50’s Baseball figures in wheat Honeys and Rice Honeys. If you got Rice Honeys you got the figures in Yellow and if you got Wheat Honeys you got the figures in blue. I only got three of the figures as a child, two of the figures in blue and one in yellow. The one I got in yellow was ABC camera man. I used the camera man in my stories for news reports and for a couple of weeks I used him as a movie camera man when I had my figures making movies.
Over the years I found other figures of the ABC Camera man but only find him in the yellow though I know the blue exists. He is a prized figure and commands a higher price that the other baseball figures.
A funny story on the Nabisco baseball players, Laurie and I were at the Plastic Warrior Show. This was one of the first or second shows Laurie was at. People were asking me questions about items, Laurie thought she would have to give people a number. One person gave me a Lido Baseball figure. I started to tell the person what the figure was (at the time I said Lido more on that later). and how it was sold. The figure was in black that the person was showing me as I remembered so I informed him it was a copy from Mexico. It struck me after I was done I was like those wine tasters who can tell where a wine came from.
Since that time we have seen copies of the Baseball figures from Hong Kong. As you will noted I have called these figures Nabisco not Lido. There are some questions whether or not Lido did the figures. We will have to wait until more research is done on these figures to clarify who made them. For now I will classify as Nabisco if they are in the colors that were offered in the cereal. Other colors of the figures existed notable gray and white.
