CTS has us photos of two more North Korean Communist Soldiers they are planning on doing. The poses are advancing with bayonet rifle and standing firing sub machine gun.
CTs would like to hear your thoughts on these two poses no date has been given when they will be release.
Here is my thought: The previous Chinese Communist set from CTS was great, and now these new North Koreans look great as well. I can hardly wait for them to come out.
On both sets, I like the variety of original posing that’s being done. Please don’t pay any attention to petty nitpickers who might pop up. These are great figures, well-sculpted, reasonably priced, from armies/historical period which have heretofore been neglected.
Thanks, CTS. When this North Korean set is released, I predict Playset Magazine will be praising, praising, praising. The hobby is very lucky to have conscientious companies like CTS, LOD, TSSD, and Expeditionary Force doing regular releases in new production plastic.
They look cool. Like the poses. Hope they make some dead and getting shot poses of the Chinese and N.K. Hope they make some Pork Chop Hill G.I.’s wirh armored vest.
Bobby Moore
If we get G.I.s in flak vests for the Korean conflict, can Marines in Vietnam be far behind? Let’s get behind CTS and these fine figures from “The Forgotten War” !
Nice poses, uniform. Still I consider detail and body proportion correlation not that accurate.
Once again thanks to CTS for their great effort and releasing the second set.
Wonder how good the first had been selling in the hobby in acceptance way. A forgotten war that so few had been talk but in 3 years cost a lot
I also agree with Bobby G Moore’s comments on Pork Chop Hill GI’s wearing “Flak Jackets”. I’ve mentioned that before. Hoping for them so I can start my Pork Chop diorama.
Good figures. A bit thick perhaps, but doesn’t bother me. I hope that’s not the color they will be, though. Looks like Marx GI forest green. Another shade of tan / brown would have tied them in with their allies and it could be different enough to set them apart at the same time. Just my 2.33 cents.
I hope they do some poses with the winter hat ear/neck cover down too and running or fast advancing. Mountain warfare was the main part of least 2 years of this war.
Greg .What weapon is the automatic rifle depicted!?. I can not figured out from pic or detail.
They look good. The barrel of the Russian MG looks too long. Other than that they look well done. I would like to see a bugler either Chinese or N. Korean. Looking forward to the sets being completed and would like to see some Canadians, Brits and Aussies too.
I wonder how much of the “chunkiness” would be due to the quilted winter uniforms they are wearing? I have some pix of me in some of the old Cold War era cold weather gear and I looked about fifty pounds heavier – layered, thick, and loose was the rule.
The chunkiest parts are the weapons. Just a bit over sized. Erwin – I can’t tell what that rifle is. You know as well as I, the likely choice for semi-auto rifle would have been the SVT-40 Tokarev. I don’t know how many SKSs were given to the Koreans and they would have had the pull-out spike or thin blade bayonet (can’t remember which. I think the Soviet model had the spike and the Chinese made the narrow blade).
Thanks Greg, it look poor detailed; for a moment confuse me with a BAR, then other. That is why I ask you as you know more than me on weapons. You got me on the bayonet. I did not know that detail .Yes I though same the PPSh41 is very large and thick I guess.-Maybe special PPSh50!!?.LOL!!
Any how we got those Atlantic with super big weapons in most. So I welcome these guys, least not that costly as other production.
Compared to the Airfix Russian with the PPsh this one does look a little too big but I’m sure when people get their sets everyone has access to Snippers,They don’t let me have access to them here.
