Marx Hong Cowboys

001This cowboy is one of the Marx Hong Kong cowboys. The figure is based on the Britains swoppet cowboys. It is not an exact copy, the legs have  been changed. The set had eleven different figures one mounted and ten foot.  The interesting question is if the figure is not in the box is it still worthwhile. What are your thoughts?

Definitely looks worthwhile to me , looks like a good action pose, although the flaking paint is a bit distracting ( but obviously that’s what happens a lot with old toy soldiers )!

The figure is a nice pose, I decided to keep it instead of throwing into the junk pile. The only negative for some people is the figure is 45mm. Paint flaking is a problem for many old figures.

Once again I like the innovation on the mixing brand poses ,it always give more choice and variety. Hong Kong and now China are the best on it and many time had come with great figures/set in doing so.

  3. I have a picture of the boxed cowboy set at my site. I find that the loose figures which are not marked Marx sell slowly.

The loose figures have little demand from collectors, you can sell them in lot or what I usually put them in junk lot that I sell to a party.

You may have had them but did not realize it. If you saw them you might have thought they cake decorations or common Hong King junk.
