Bill Nevins sent along photos of his summer finds. See if you can recognize all the figures.

I can minus the lady in yellow robe, the pictures are a bit blurr
I think Bill had a pretty successful Summer.
Any season where you find the Ideal Donald Duck, Cpt. Gallant and Wagon Train character figures, two Timpo Cossacks, that 60mm Marx pirate in yellow, and those Lil’Abner and Daisy Mae character figures, plus all the rest, you’re doing pretty well.
Don
I have correct your posting from Crescent to Timpo on the Cossacks.
Thanks.
Hello;again who is and who made the lady!?any body knows!???
thanks
Erwin
The woman in the robes should be Noah’s wife from the HO Noah’s Ark sets that have been made.
That’s the same blue diving figure I was inquiring about, recently.
Nice Haul Bill !
I enjoy picking up odd pieces and thought I would share some of the stranger stuff that you don’t see everyday. I’ve got about 5 more weeks of the market left. If anything turns up I’ll let you know.
Anyone know what the boat/landing craft is from?
The blue diving figure is one of the very last Marx figures. It came in some sort of sea rescue package with a raft or small boat.
Mr Peanut is also a whistle. Was this like a cracker jack prize?
The red soldier with the tab is a Remco WW 1 figure. Thanks to Stad for that. I did not recognize it.
The last picture is of the first version knights in a very odd color. Almost metallic blue but not exactly. I’m told these came only in one Knights carryon. Anyione know?
Bill
The blue Marx skin diver was with a rescue sub or rescue helicopter.
The metallic blue knights were never in a carry-all set. They came in a set that had one full set in metallic blue, metallic green, and silver. All in muted colors. I got a set of the green in my collection now. I had them from my brother, as a kid. They came in a few of the tin castles, one a high wall.
When the first series knights were redone with bases, they were cast in these colors, too. I have bases on the set I own now.
The landing craft is from a REMCO ship. the “wagon train” figure is the smaller version from the Disneyland playset. The blue knights were used in the 1959 4700 higheal castle set and the 1964 dime store set.
I meant high wall castle set
Greg The knights came in a carryall that I bought at the market. Those greenish knights are in there also, along with a couple of silver ones. The tin was rotted, but the figures and somes acc’s survived.
I can’t say for sure that the knights were original to the carryall, but I would be really surprised if they were not. The thing looked like it had not been opened in 40 years.
Marx was know to substitute freely, as far as figures go. So who knows?
Kent The two smaller cream figures are from the Disneyland set. One is a Spaceman and the other is Marshall Dillion.
Greg was talking about the Wagon Train character figures that I found a few weeks ago,
I think.
What is the “Swoppett-type” knight sneaking up on Matt?? I have a bunch in my collection, but not positive of the make.
Thanks
Marx switched to the 2nd version 54mm knight in 1965 and the old 1st version 54mm knight mold was retired and not used again until the 1980s when made for the reissue knight pkayset with the ex carryall plastic in brown with card stock walls. The first Fighting Knights carry all tin case playset was made in 1968 three years after the switch to the new knights was made. The only castle playset that got metallic blue, metallic green and silver 1st version 54mm knights was the 4700 made in 1959.
Kent I would never doubt your knowledge. I have no idea how these got in a carryall, but I know that they did. Probably thrown into the carryall years later.
I had the “Fighting Knights” carry-all set. There were 2nd series knights in it. Sooooo glad for that.
I figure the 1st series knights got in there the same way all my MPC cowboys and Indians and any other Western figures got into my Ft Apache Carry-all case – I put them in there for storage. After all, I always played with all of them together anyway when I was a kid, putting them all in the case was simpler and more efficient than the cardboard boxes I used to have to use. My younger brothers’ Ft Apache case is in my parents attic, it has some of the Marx guys, along with some Atlantic and Timpo Swoppets I bought them when I was stationed in Germany – and some MPC.
