Thank You from Greg Liska

Well, I’ve about completed my 60mm ACW ‘set’. I want to thank everyone who either donated or sold me stuff for next to nothing. I can’t say enough good about it and it makes me glad to be part of a hobby like this.

A lot of what I got was supposed to be ‘conversion fodder’, but I could not help wanting to save them. Attached are some pictures of some ‘saves’. This stuff was really, really bad, so it’s not the best looking stuff ever, but quite useable.

Federals – The 2 former Rebels (WOW guys) were in horrible shape and I’d taken their hats. Then, I felt I could not let them go to the trash pile. The rifles are Marx 54mm metallic blue marcher pose rifles. The kepis were from other conversions and I had to heat treat the bases 3 times before they were anything even approaching flat. The Timmee mounted guy had a played out hat. He got a kepi as a replacement, gave up the binoculars, and his sword was straightened out. The former bugler, turned dismounted cavalryman, got a pistol and holster. It appears he has either just fired and is withdrawing the weapon, or is going to draw down carefully.

His ring hand buddy got a carbine to hold and the way his stance is, looks very natural. The former Timmee cowboy lost half his head when I was trying to take his hat for another figure. I started just playing around, but the result looks OK to me. He’s about got full kit on, minus the bed roll. It was tough lining up head parts from a 60mm Timmee ACW cripple. The rifle is a cut back MPC ring hand musket. The straps are rubber bands for tying hair knots.

Indians – These guys got ‘big boy’ size bows now. Those original bows are absurd! I’m sure they came with suction cup arrows.

Thanks for looking and I thank all those who helped me with my ‘set’ once again!

We cannot wait for Greg’s next project.

Greg Still offering Ideal AWI bags for very, very cheap. How’s $ 2.50 a bag sound?
25 figures to the bag, I believe.

This offer is open to anyone here.
    MINUMUM is 10 bags.
It’s not worth my time for a couple of bags.

Shipping is extra and at cost.

  2. Greg Liska says:

    What colors are they in?

  3. Bill Nevins says:

Red and Blue. Maybe a few gray left.

  4. Greg Liska says:

I’m in for 5 of each, red and blue.
