Our very good friend Erwin Sell found these pirates in Cracker Barrel a fast casual chain. The figures are 45mm. The figures come in red and black. The figures have been offered in various formats.

These look like a modified version of a similarly sized set of pirates that was available at Dollar General stores and elsewhere a few years ago. They were distributed by Dolgencorp and the header card read Treasure Chest: Buccaneer Brawlers with 25 in red and black per bag. You could get these for a dollar at Dollar General. In the older bags, the figure on the right with the machete was standing up straighter and had an ax in his other hand. The fat figure in the middle had two axes instead of two bombs in his hands. The peg-legged pirate had his peg-leg and weapons reversed (unless the photo is reversed) and I think at different angles. I’ll have to find a Cracker Barrel and check these out.
Daniel
The photo is not reversed so the pose is different.
They are different.I had the 5 poses from Dollar General that come about 2 years ago and barely still around as typical of the dollar company. I did bough several set of the Dollar general sets back then and still have few of then in all poses; I will supply pictures of then as well with other sets too for compare. These are a different-definitely. They as others match with original 12 poses Hing Fat that are still recast in only 8 poses and sale by others around.
Correction, yes-three poses are copied and varied from the poses done and sold in DG before but variations are definitely nice addition I should said ,other two poses are complete new.
DG sold set are/were 45 mm with exception of captain in 50 mm scale size.by exact measure using scale rule.
CB sold sets are 50-52 mm scale and more fill in in body(less flat)they come in a large bag of about 40 pc(red and black as well)- with 2 cannon ,boat, TNT barrel , treasure chest plus small pirate flag. Price $3.49 in my local stores/restaurant .It may varied per area!?
And are sold in head bag branded (toy smith) too..I forgot to mention.
In the UK the figures have been sold painted in header card bags. The base colour is a pinky flesh, which means the faces and hands are unpainted. The colours used are red, black and silver. There is also a female figure looking demure but holding a pistol behind her back.
Accessories are a row boat, spiked wall, coral reef, raft, cannon, treasure chest and a playmat.
Selling for around £2.50 ( $4 )
Interesting Peter ; the same happen here with another differed pirate set sold- in 6 factory painted small quantity bags and then sold unpainted version but no all poses in a bucket with skeleton sets.
And the target-STORES distributed unpainted sets here also sold too in painted loose poses at party stores. In both cases they differ in base with different numerical series/marks .
Could you post a picture of the female figure? Thanks! Mike
Not too bad !
