Here are the figures that Todd found at Wal-Mart. They are in a bucket called Corps Elite. Figures are 40mm. I check one Wal-Mart on the way home from my Wednesday flea market. I did find the blind bag Walking Dead figures and got one for the collection. Here are the other pictures Todd sent.
Expeditionary Force TOO Big,Corps Elite TOO Small,Could somebody do a 54MM set of something?LOL.They are some neat poses though and I notice they still feel the need for bayonets. What’s the scariest thing anybody ever said to you?Fix bayonets.
Agree on ALL counts.
They look very much like the movie ” Starship Troopers”.
That is what intrigued me about the pieces when I saw them. So I decided, why not? I have to say I was not disappointed.
A bunch of lefties too.
I ran out to Walmart and bought a bucket. At $8.92 it seemed like a good deal for 120 pieces. I haven’t had time to do an inventory to see how many soldiers vs. wall sections etc., but you do seem to get a fair number of soldiers despite the now typical cardboard insert eating up a lot of space in the bucket. Size-wise these guys seem roughly comparable to the approximately 50mm Blue Box soldiers that used to be in buckets at Target. The Walmart figures are a bit chunkier than the leaner Blue Box soldiers. Standing Blue Box men seem slightly taller, but most of the Walmart figures are leaning over etc. Kneeling and lying down figures seem pretty comparable. There is a sticker on the bucket saying “Only at Walmart.” The company that makes them is Lanard. The figures in the bucket may be intended to tie in somehow with Lanard’s “The Corps” line of small G.I. Joe-like figures. There is a circle on the bucket saying “The Corps Elite vs. The Curse.” I don’t know what that means, but maybe you can figure it out at Lanard’s rather busy website which is also printed on the bucket – http://www.thecorpshq.com All in all, another very nice contribution to the world of mass-produced plastic toy soldiers. The accessories seem nice. I like the original touch of a fence with barbed wire strung across the top. The walker looks good from the front, but is hollow in the back. But to end where I began, for $8.92 this is a lot of useful plastic.
There are 32 soldiers in each color.
8 poses total with a total of 4 copies per pose for a grand total of 96 soldiers.
You get two different types of barbed wire with 4 copies of each, 2 sand bags, 2 auto gun platforms, 4 autoguns, 1 tank, 1 mech, 1 helicopter, 1 aircraft and 3 anti-tank barriers (aka Czech hedgehogs).
plus the little three section building/bunker front.
That gun looks a lot like the one used by the Marines in Alien, the pulse rifle.
ed,in fact the figures are pretty close to the ones done for alien playset in the e 90’s ,but look more modern in gear, definitely a good add/match on.
I have the same count as TNes except that I have three each of the two types of fence instead of four. I agree with Ed and Erwin about the similarities to the Aliens marines – especially the kneeling man with the pulse rifle. I’m very pleased with the whole science fiction vibe to these figures. I compared them to some Star Wars Command Storm Troopers and Clone Troopers. The standing guys are definitely just a bit short, but closer than you might think. As often happens with toy soldiers, the kneeling guys are a bit outsized and they really fit in with the kneeling Star Wars figures. So I can see these Corps Elite troops standing in as local planetary defense forces in S-F games – the Storm Troopers probably ought to be a bit big anyway. I also see these figures mixing reasonably well with the reissued TimMee Galaxy Laser Team.
They do indeed mix well with the Star Wars Command figures. I am working on a little corps elite vs stormtrooper battle. It is creates a very satisfying sight.
Tnes, could you please provide the UPS (large numerical series # of 12 total)in barcode of plastic container).
That will give fellow collector easy way to google online please.
I appreciate it.Thank you!!
Best regards.
Hey Erwin,
The only barcode on the bucket is the following:48242-33475. It is bracketed by a “0” on each end.
Thank you TNes, that is the one; the two at each end are other two(zeroes). It mean using only Walmart UPS /barcode label for their replenishment order system, not factory. Great..!!!
I appreciate it and should be use all 12 when searching..
anybody know if these are for sale online anywhere?
I’d expect the set to become available at the online Walmart site. The bucket claims to be a Walmart exclusive, so I suppose the only other place it may eventually show up would be Ebay.
They look interesting. Maybe something different to mess arround with. Wish they would have made some alien figures for them to be “The Curse” to give them some real enemies to fight. I wonder if the Tubes of “Army vs. Aliens” and “Ninjas vs. Robots” figures they were selling at Target would be in scale to work with them?
Bobby G. Moore
The soldiers in the bucket appear to be based on the Corps vs Curse Elite action figure line. (think GI Joe) As far as I can tell, it is all humans vs humans.
TNes.they did a series in 5″ action figures same soldiers.intersting and yes correct are base on that after looking at game
I took a quick look at the Blip toys Ninjas vs. Robots. They are a bit small but workable with the Corps Elite troops. I assume the same with the Army v. Aliens. Better yet would be the Imperial zombies that came out in tubes with blue TimMee clone zombie defenders. These tubes were at Walmart and I have seen some in at least one Kroger toy aisle. Walgreens also sold the same figures with tanks and planes in a boxed set.
I went to my local WalMart to find these guys but they either haven’t made it there yet or were all sold out. I did notice that Star Wars Command packs are now half price as they try to clear them off the shelves. I got some of the formerly $4.99 Clone Trooper and Sand Trooper packs for $2.50 each. If you want Star Wars Command, now’s the time to get them.
Mark, my experience was the reverse – the Star Wars Command blisters were gone and they had a few of the Corps Elite buckets. I’m sure the buckets will show up in your Walmart soon. They were in the action figure aisle – not far from the Corps Elite 5 inch figures. The Star Wars Command figures are disappearing fast. They were gone from my local Target the last time I checked. I did get some of the blister packs for $2.50 at a Kroger. In other news, while the Blue Box army men buckets are also gone from the shelves of my local Target, I saw them and the Blue Box pirate buckets for $9.99 in a nearby Meijer.
The target, walmart shelves are been clean for end summer remodeling.
Buyers/vendors contract are fill-signed and ready, spaces with planograms will soon be done and label for new BB coming sets in all target.
Walmart elite buckets are not being carry in all stores, Wal-Mart vendor is regional distributed ,not as target.
Star war command set as being told before was done and close with not more release.
Company did not do well versus profit cost /sales profits.
Found 2 buckets on my local Wal-Mart shelf today which surprized me as the Peaceniks here make pretty sure that our little darlings aren’t exposed to gasp “War Toys” They look really good in person just too damn small. They are called “Adventure Sets” and sell for $10.79 CDN a bucket which works out to about $8.25US with today’s (15 Aug) exchange rate.If they were just a bit bigger!
I saw a couple at our local Walmart. Again, too small.
I picked up a bucket of these to try out the FAD (Fast and Dirty free wargame rules). Is any one using these figures for similar purposes. Obviously, smaller would be better, considering terrain issues, but they looked too good to pass up. I just wish that there would have been two separate army types.
Buckets on sale at Walmart now for FIVE BUCKS!
