These Hong Kong figures of which only one poses is showed at Kent Sprecher’s site too was a full play set with a castle. They are called (KNGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE ) Made 1984 It comes with 8 foot and 6 mounted knights, unfortunately only these five remain alive after so many battles. They even fought against “gigantic dragon dog” against my will but few made back to me. (Marx mounted 60 mm scale and foot poses with German Marolin for scale purpose.
The banner carrier (not showed) and tournament spear are removable. None of foot poses has a removable weapon. I don’t know if there were any other poses. The castle was in unique plastic that I can recall not seen any other later from other factory but not too much detail, the nice accessory was the assault tower (it was like the Elastolin plastic one and in same large scale as original as was in scale with figures) just that it was painted in some parts and came fully assembled.) The catapult I cannot recall from who was. Sorry, I’m looking for one day complete this set. I have been in hunt for it for many years.
Some are direct poses copied from a British maker but I think over scaled. And horses are under scaled are from other another company, I guess!?
I should say all Hong Kong figures, as I have had since childhood painted figures were molded funded in a base color (skin pink). It was intentional done in case any skin part of figure was exposed no need to painted. As more Chinese immigrants from main land start moving and working in Hong Kong factories the paint detail went to down, also the cheap market in toy soldier declined and lower costs forcing companies to hire non skilled many underage workers .The best KK painted figures are from early 70’s to late 70’s, after that most figures start to come with bad paint job. Hong Kong developed few indigenous not British oriented neither directed American or British toy factories in some cases they developed cloned/mix poses figures. in others own original design such as most of (BLUE BOX)
The knights and horses are mainly copies of Cherilea.
I have the foot versions, although they were are copies of Crescent knights not Cherilea , they had the same paint scheme but were called ‘Roman Knights’.
There is a picture of them in my PW Roman special.
They are made of hard polystyrene plastic so are prone to ‘played with damage’
thanks Peter . I knew they were cast from British marker, yes they brake easy, specially the weapons, still the legs after many on off from horses last a lot for me.Mine come in the castle version mentioned with tall assault tower.Do you have yours for sale or pictures least that could supply if have please!?.If do I will be interested .may be adm my supply my email to you if possible to see it.I’m appreciate it. Thank you.
