Greg Liska sent this note about some Supreme knights.
In gathering up archers from the Simba and Supreme sets, I ended up with some Knights. I didn’t like them much until I made them all pewter silver and made shields for them. They are keepers for me now. Seems there are only 7 poses including the very much out of place Greek Archer. If anybody knows what this missing pose might be, or even IF there IS a missing pose, I’d like to get the info. I think the confusion was over the fact that the arms move, making it look like more poses. Lastly, I’m still looking for more of the archer pose and the supreme Greek archer pose that comes with the ‘Alexander the Great’ set. I just don’t want to buy anymore full bags.
They do look a lot better after your alterations. in fact they look pretty darn good now.
Awesome job Greg;yes there in fact two more poses in my collection , one foot one on horse, will supply poses later with admi permission
Erwin
Send the pictures I will be hapy to put them up.
Thanks ADM;just done
Thanks, Ed. The tower shields are actually ice cream spatulas! The round ones are cut plastic, stacked like nesting dolls.
Erwin – I’d love to see the 2 poses. Were these just done by Simba and not copied by Supreme?
Greg both are in the in first castle playset sold by Simba with a catapult and tower I got. The playset contain no all poses that later were sold in blister pack set. I will send pictures to you soon .The foot pose appear in small set with one mounted knight and catapult window case in 1999.
The last castle playset I had seen sold was by CTS and it was listed in playset section for over two years till sold or else in 2011/12!?, it was same I have and had the two poses as were shown outside case picture.
I should add the first figures series were done of more soft rubber type material, paint actually if left storage in hot environment could get sticky. The color on early knight were more pale choose. After version sold by Simba,Eurasia and by Supreme in not playset castle set are more gloss and material more stronger but still soft plastic. I had never seen the two poses in later version .
I checked out the pics. Interesting! I can live without them, but the peasant or auxiliary or whatever he is, is cool. As with the archer, his equipment is out of time period. The sword looks more like a 1700’s edged weapon than anything carried in the Middle Ages. If I found him, I’d be changing that out pretty quick. So, my guess is that Supreme did not copy these guys. I’ll have something to look for at flea markets and garage sales now. Thanks, buddy.
I have quite a few of these Supreme knights on foot and on horseback, where and when were they made , do you have any info on that ?
Thx
Tim
Ps how do you add pictures to this site ?
