Always wished these were done in 54 or 60mm…………..

I wished they had been in 54mm and 50mm. We had the Palmer but they were not exciting.
I remember seeing those monsters in the toy departments at the old dimestores – can’t remember if they were carried by Kresge’s, Woolworth’s, or Ben Franklins (or maybe all three?) But I never bought any myself – my money was always reserved for their six-inch military counterparts – at one time I had all the Marx Germans, Japanese, and US figures and even a couple Russians. I wish I still did but gave them away to my younger brothers when I joined the Army. They may still be in my Mom’s attic.
I had one Monster figure, a blue Mummy. He used to kick the Sauer Kraut out of the Germans.
I had the monsters and all the 6” soldiers. I know I traded the soldiers for a load of 54mm stuff, but I cannot recall what happened to the monsters. This is going to bother me now. Hmmm……..
Greg, could your Mother have sold them in a tag sale or when you were at school taken them to Goodwill, that is my theory for my missing toys that I know I never threw out ?
Mark – Mom is a likely culprit. She gave away my Medieval stuff when I wasn’t home. I had already given away my WWII stuff. I turned 18 and thought I was an adult. It wasn’t until I was 32 that I realized I wasn’t an adult. So, now I have more toys than ever! I really did puzzle over this and I think I got rid of the monsters when a friend bought my monster models off of me.
Airfix proposed to make 54mm versions in the 1970s – never got further than the drawing board

It is a shame they did not follow through.
