Just When

Just when I have given up finding any decent DVDs out in the flea markets and yard sales, I found some in two different situations.  As I have mention before when I am out looking for collectibles, I am looking for DVDs that I can watch. Normally the movies that I see out there are bottom of the barrel garbage.

Last Friday I was going to my bank and when I got to a stop sign, I noticed a hand made sign for a yard sale. I decided to check it out.  I got to the yard sale and saw they had some DVDs. First I found the John Wayne Alamo and documentary on the Alamo.  On another table I got two Beatles DVDs for Laurie. The one DVD contains the four complete show appearances of the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. Not only does it have the Beatles appearances, but it has the other acts that were on that night the Beatles performed.  The other Beatles DVD is a documentary on the Beatles.

Then Sunday I went out two flea markets, The first one gets older antiques so there is a good chance of finding things.  The second market is done two times a month. The second market is a hit or miss in finding items. This time it was a miss for collectibles. I went to the dealers that were under the pavilion to check out a table or two. I came to dealer with DVDs and discovered he had a Black Adder.  Black Adder is a great comedy show from the UK that Laurie and I love. The DVD was all episodes plus the specials including Black Adder Back and Forth. We had seen it  when it was shown at the Millennium Dome  in 2000 in Greenwich.

I jus missed a DVD of Tales of a Golden Monkey, I was happy with what I found.

I like the hunt never knowing what you will find. I like when you find something unique not the same old stuff. that is why I like Europe as you find things you never knew existed.

What a find! I would love to see the Beatle stuff and I’d seen Black Adder in the UK. I would think it might be hard to find in US format. I never thought to look. Keeping in line with Brian’s cheesey reference jokes – So, you went home and watched a ‘really big shew’ that night.

The Black Adder is set for U.S. standards. If you check the internet it sells in the stores for $50 to $60.00. On EBay it sells around $34.00 I paid $6.00
On the Beatles Ed Sullivan I was surprised on those as I never knew they had them out.
