Brian made the following comment on the buildings:

“Interesting work I really like this guys Western buildings. I guess there wouldn’t be any copyright stuff to worry about now with Marx?”

This person has been doing western buildings that will go with Marx Western town.

Very nice, definitely has that “Marx” look !

  2. Wayne W says:

Nice stuff; I’ve made some buildings myself but I have to (sadly) admit, nothing done as well as he has done.

  3. erwin says:

I had seen the western building before, never these, nice match and great paint /craft work.
Still can not rob the nostalgic feeling of old tin litho!!

  4. Greg Liska says:

Looks great! Convincing enough for me! Is this the same guy who did an ‘Untouchables’ street front?

  5. Bill Nevins says:

The guy’s name is Allen something and he is quite talented. I bulk bought about 20 Western buildings from him way back when he first started and they are excellent.
They easily mix with you tin Marx stuff and there are lots of choices like Gun Store,
Cattleman’s Association building and plenty more.
He had a website but it’s gone now.
Joe Baker has pictures on his site, as he has several of the buildings also.
    Worth a look.

  6. Carl Cwiklinski says:

I have no more room for true-to-scale 3-dimensional buildings. I wish someone would make new tin litho or high-relief 2-dimensional buildings.

  7. Wayne W says:

Or maybe a full façade with a narrower building behind it. Kind of like the old Marx tin litho buildings or even the MPC buildings. They were large enough to give you a feeling of a good building to play with but not so big as to take too large an area.

  8. Andy Keliar says:

The seller has made custom buildings for me in the past, such as the photo studio at the OK Corral. I would guess he’ll still do this. If you want facades, get in touch with him to see if he’ll make them for you. Prices were good for custom pieces. Sometimes competing eBay bidders used to drive them way out of whack.

  9. Joe Joria says:

I’ve had a number of buildings from him over that last ten years or so. Great work, and getting even better. He will do custom buildings also, did a saddle shop for a friend of mine based on his actual store. Looked just like it. He said he could do the Alaska street front also. I hadn’t seen this Army street before, but will be looking for it now.

      Hi Joe
I like his buildings too and one of these will get one or two.

      • Don Perkins says:

The artist’s name is Allan Roberts. He signs and dates each of his creations on the underside. I purchased his “Lone Star Saloon” 4 or 5 years back on a Sunday morning at OTSN before the gates opened at 10:00. On the bottom, it’s dated 4/22/04.

I don’t know if I was dealing with Mr. Roberts himself, but the dealer I got it from had 3 other different Western town buildings. I got just one, but noticed it was very sturdy and very artistically detailed — all wood.

I should have gotton more than just one of the four buildings he had, but it was the end of the Show weekend, and I was already over-budget, rapidly running out of money. You know how it goes at these events.

If you fish around on Joe Baker’s Playset Addict web site, you’ll see tons of these buildings & other great stuff.
