This is our second part of our review of the new TSSD Barbarians and Romans. This was scuplted instead of being computer design like the Romans. This shows as the figures are more detailed and more animated. Once again we do not have any outrageous poses that TSSD had in the past offerings. The set has a female archer which is a surprise. One of my friends is using this figure as Maid Marian.
The complaints from collectors have been minor. One has been a left hand fighter and another has been large bases. I like these figures and plan to add them to my barbarian army. TSSD has planned their next set to have four Barbarians and four Romans. We are hoping they are successful in this line as they can add Roman cavalry and more importantly Barbarian cavalry.
I really liked the Barbarians, great animation. They do have rather large bases though and three lefties in the group seems a bit much, but I thought they were excellent.
I had a chance to talk to the sculptor a couple of times, he said this was his first effort sculpting toy soldiers, he usually sculpts statues and the like. He enjoyed sculpting them and would like to do more in the future.
These figures represent the ancient Germanic Nonexx tribe. They did not know the meaning of the word fear ( nor ‘hygene’ either)
