I found this figure mixed up with a bunch of Marx 60mm figures. It is a hard plastic soccer(football) player.  I have never seen it does any one recognize it?

Your sure he’s not a Basketball player??

    • Brian McIver says:

I think Brian (Johnson) is wright, You would never see a football player (we never say soccer in Europe) with a ball in his hands (unless he was the goalkeeper, in which case he would have gloves on)

      Brian
Yes I have double check and it a soccer player.

Looks like a volleyball player, but I’m not really sure what it is, a very unnatural pose for any sport I would think.

  3. ERWIN says:

My opinion base in what I can see at photo.
Because of jerseys with Laced crew necks long-sleeved shirt with protector tide pants/leggings under short and what appear to look as” gloves “!?;it most represent a 1870-1902 Goalkeeper in European uniform style. The ball appear to be a typical same era soccer(football) side rimed fabric cover style too.
The pose as very accordantly to the Goalkeeper when try to stop a high entering ball kicked in the protected goal square frame.
The goalkeeper’s main job is to stop any penetration of the ball into the goal. The goalkeeper is the only player in the side who may use his or her hands and arms to catch, throw and save the ball, but only within the penalty area. Goalkeepers are required to wear a distinctive color jersey, separate from the referee’s jersey color and either team’s regular jersey color, so the referee can easily identify them. There are no other specific requirements, but goalkeepers are usually allowed to wear additional protective gear such as padded clothing. Most goalkeepers also wear gloves to protect their hands (sometimes referred to as “Mickey Mouse gloves”) and enhance grip of the ball and, like every player on the pitch, they are required to wear shin guards.

Agree with ED ,looks like a female volley ball player to me, looks like it is wearing knee pads you would see in volley ball not soccer

  5. ed borris says:

I agree with Mark, it looks like a woman, either that or he needs a bro or a mansier.

  6. ed borris says:

You mean he has a package bulge?

  7. ed borris says:

I know I was just kidding.

  8. Brian Johnson says:

His body type says Football(Soccer) player more than Basketball. He does seem to be wearing kneepads and seems to have a crossbelt on his jersey.Whatever he is looks like he is supposed to be from early 20th Century.Guess we’ll have to see if some team mates show up to know what sport he is playing.

I have no idea. I picked this figure in the United States and got two of the same pose.
