Our very good friend Erwin Sell Found going through his collection the Durham Personnel Carrier Here is what he said.
I found the less know Durham industries #90009 vehicle, it resemble an 1950’s era NATO all terrain tractor artillery else vehicle. But I find out after quick research it is actually very well base in the M8 High-Speed Tractor from 1950 and used in Korea war .It can pass as M4 tractor from WW2 too .Funny part is the front crew officer has an American ww2 tank crew helmet with German tank crew ww2 uniform ?!!!The original vehicle come often with 2 or 3 seated poses personnel and made in 1/38 scale or accord with vehicle size pretty much .I had seen it often at shows along the King tiger and SDFKZ 6 vehicles
The soldier seating is a cloned copied of the Payton/Marx 35-40 mm scale soldier. Once again it was done in a motorized wind up or else version too as this later mold with inside part removed show where switch were.
Nice,Thanks for sharing Erwin !
Why does the dog look so sad??LOL,what are the DPC’s dimensions, length, width, height? What’s dog’s name?
Is that Erwin’s dog in the background? Looks like a nice dog. What’s his name?
Don
Yes his dog’s name is Blondi and is a German Shepherd. I will try to have him send photo to post.
HUMM now who else had a dog named Blondi??
It is a very common name in Germany(is just Blondie in German) ,it is common practice to call German Shepard in Germany like that or related name as most have dark colors, when their chest or other areas tones start turning gold/light yellow even if is not the name.(she was born there and come only with (8 weeks)from BUNGIL (http://worldclassgsd.com/.htm)
Now with 8 months she is 76 pounds and very healthy. She already learn not to chew in my collection,so now she is the guard. LOL!!
She has a very intelligent, alert, and handsome face.
Thanks Don;Yes she is very smart and alert, few times teaching and won’t forget nothing. A natural learner and extremely protective..I do let my child(6 years old daughter outside with her along in my 2 acres land back wooded yard and she does not move more than 3 feet from her all time). They got along as sisters. All I do is watch then from window/other side and felt relaxed /secured. She is my second child..
Believe me, neither you nor your daughter has anything to ever fear from a female German Shephard. Blondi would lay down her life to protect any member of her human family, and would always be alert to anything that threatened. Watch an old episode on You Tube of Rin Tin Tin, and I think you’ll recognize the same heroic qualities of Rin Tin Tin in Blondi.
Upon reflection, I shouldn’t have made my comments above applicable as to a “female German Shephard”, as though a “male Shephard” would somehow pose a threat to its human family. What I really meant to state was this: Any German Shephard raised as part of a loving family, in the house with the rest of the family, would lay down his or her life for any member of that family who was in danger from an outside threat. A dog like that would always be completely loyal, completely faithful, completely trustworthy, just like Rin Tin Tin was in the old TV show. And Erwin doesn’t need to give a second thought to the safety of his daughter when she is with Blondi.
I understood from first instance perfectly,no need to clear ;we all are mature and know it was regarding a female because mine is a girl..But I do agree ,no wonder police and army all around the world use this specific type of dog so often,is very loyal and extremely expressive. Some time I see in her eyes like she want to speak to me,too bad she does not. She can smell a bad person presence and differentiate the person intention just by looking and smelling from a distance. Trust me when she walk with me and some scu.. come around 50 f she start looking in attention and almost what to go if is not because I tell not. What smart animal they are!!.I do already have her enrolled with a voluntary training with my local P department K9 ,they had seen her and felt in love already.)Thank you for your words and appreciation Don
I love Rin Tin Tin.TOO bad they don’t do these shows any more!!
