We heard from T Barnecut on his latest project. I will let hem explain his project.
I’m cutting a new aluminum die which will produce a type of split-rail fencing in plastic. It’s designed to compliment the Marx low stone wall. In the photo you can see the wooden prototypes and hopefully the plastic one will turn out similar to these, though I’m not certain when this project will be completed. I would welcome input / comments from your readers.
WOW;That is so simple and so smart!!.Just check for right type of liquid/plastic at craft stores or supplier of mold making(one mold kit bucket kit) will give you to do a lot of these!!
Thanks, Erwin. The plastic used will be low density polyethylene. The mold is designed to fit a vintage EMCO bench-top injection molder. A similar machine of current manufacture is available from a company in Pennsylvania for under $2000. With it you can inject up to 18 grams or about 2/3 oz. of plastic. The average 54mm/60mm plastic figure weighs about 4 to 6 grams so you could potentially make your own figures if you can devise a workable mold.
what is the high!?look more solid wood(realistic) than BMC that is one side mold and inside look too plain..
Ok, the height of the fence is about 2 inches or 5.5cm. The length about 3.5 inches or 9cm.
Where will these be sold pls
The split rail fences will be available from T D Barnecut. Once they are available, we will list Barnecut’s address for you to order.
The size look good ,quality much better than BMC ,the post are more logic=realistic and right way to do than plain flat wood done by BMC .
Will like to see a close up pic next to BMC sample to compare better if possible.!!??
Overall great simple idea and a go on sale with a huge range of use. As far polyethylene
mentioned and not fragile plastic is used with low cost production will give you a good sale from start right on. Congrats on idea/new product!!
I don’t have the BMC fence for size comparison but I can put some figures in the photo if that will help. I want the fence to be realistic in scale & detailing so this is my goal.
Realistic in detail and size so far IS !!!Like I mentioned ,BMC used the one side flat size mold face that look so toy..
