A friend is looking for the new 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Hess Toy Truck, is also being sold over the counter at select Hess gas stations in PA?
My friend overheard at a show yesterday about it. He asked the guys if they were talking about the regular issue that’s being sold at stations and they told him no, they noticed the L E truck being sold for $45 at some Hess stations. Unfortunately, I forgot in which towns? The LE truck was supposed to be available only thru online purchases only.
If you can help out let me know. Thanks
I am not sure Paul, I have seen some listed in magazines I get, which I get bunches of them. Your friend does need to hurry, because I believe I heard on the news this will be it for them producing this truck, I believe it was the Hess truck. Also collectors scoop up all known stock, hoard them, and then resale at over inflated prices. don’t think the one/s I saw was the special issue one however, but even the regular ones will cost much more in the future.
I don’t know about the value of Hess trucks increasing. I see tons of them at my local market going for 5 and 6 bucks each, mint in the box. The older ones may be desireable, but I believe that the Hess market has pretty much crashed.
I have 2 sets of every truck, mini truck and even drinking glasses since 1988, sitting in my closets. I bought them when my twin sons were born and kept buying them every year until this one. The boys never had any interest in them. So, there they sit. I religiously removed the batteries from them to keep them in perfect order.
Anyone interested in tem?
The Hess station in Amherst, MA has signs up advertising limited edition (I think) Hess trucks.
