Would these guns be premiums today in cereal? Disregarding the child safety laws, the subject matter would have certain people screaming. They would say it is trying to continued the gun culture. I am sure they would have other complaints. What do you think?

I think you are right on the money. Given the uproar we hear from time to time about little kids shooting bubbles from a bubble gun at one another, making a “gun” with their index finger and thumb and pointing at another kid, or even being seen playing with toy soldiers or playing cowboys and Indians; sure there are a whole bunch o’ folks who would get their undies bound up over toy gun cereal premiums.
Gun culture is part of the history in this nation. (Brain wash damage distortion is not).I loves them; have all original in silver colors from my dad. Will never sale off those. For some reason only the W73 is orange in my lot. Never ask my father why he got it in that color!?
I like the flintlocks , wish I had some.
Yeah I wish I would have gotten them in my cereal as premiums. As far as people getting upset about it, well they usually get upset about anything nowadays. If we didn’t have guns we would be speaking another language. People kill, guns are nothing but tools. If the bad guys didn’t have guns they would use something else.
Some of these people need to wake up, we do not live in a world of peace and love, and we never have, and never will, until Christ comes back.
I probably shouldn’t state this, but here goes. Bad guys will always find a way to get guns.
In todays age, you better know how to defend yourself. I am talking male, female, even adolescents, need to learn gun safety, and how to use one. I won’t say what could happen if we ever lose our rights to bear arms, except that our government would have a field day. Our founding fathers warned us, you had better believe them.
Agree in all!!
Just to echo the gun sentiments. Been a gun nut all my life. Also had to carry for a period of time when I did outside collections and real estate maintenance for my employer (a bank). Everyone is right, the bad guys will have guns or other weapons and will prey on the good guys (us) if we don’t stand up to them. Sadly, in our politically correct world, the naïve politically correct folks don’t understand the real world. I remember taking a “without a clue” senior VP on a tour of some of the real estate I was managing in a terribly run down city (Chester PA). He was not crazy about me carrying until he saw what I had to deal with on the street. After our little tour, his response was, “Do whatever you have to do, just don’t ever take me back there again.” I guess the point I’m trying to make is what has already been said here. Bad guys will be bad guys and good guys need to be prepared to defend themselves and their loved ones from the bad guys. Sorry, I’m rambling, time for bed. Good night all.
Guns are not part of our culture – apart from nutters – the whole gun loving stuff leaves us bemused
Guns are part of our culture. Since its founding, and ever since the first European set foot on American soil. Perhaps some people would rather let only the military have these types of weapons ? If that is your mentality, don’t cry when the bad guys end up getting them, and controlling your governments, and militaries. Then make you, and your families slaves.
Don’t complain when the cops don’t get there in time to save you, your families, and your friend’s backsides. You will have no one to blame but yourself/s. Its each person’s own responsibility to be able to defend him, or herself. Doing so, or being able to do so does not make one a nut.
The problem with the gun nuts is that whenever a reasonable restriction on guns is proposed (such as background checks to prevent mentally unstable people from getting their hands on them), they (the gun nuts) start screaming that the government is part of some giant conspiracy to take everyone’s guns away. It’s not true, of course, and nobody has proposed any such thing. But as a result of this know-nothing type of alarmism, we continue to be exposed to all sorts of unnecessary violence, like at Sandy Hook Elementary school. It then becomes impossible to get even the mildest, most reasonable and sensible precautions in place. All because of gun nuts.
Sorry guns are TRUE part of America=USA culture 100% .Denying it is like saying the first pilgrims did not come with guns but with flowers and never shot a turkey in the forest. Thanks to the right to carry weapon the first settlers American/European formed militia that serve the continental army to fight and defeat the Crown British forces when(England) just few years early want among others things take that right off colonialist because of fear of a revolution. After independence war it was set and repeated in the rights and laws. I’m not a 100% pro gun, neither against but the right to keep and carry one in this country is a plus and unique law. Teach my daughter to use one will be another good thing as other say; too many nuts every year and they had well access to the guns by many no legal ways too. Freedom is not free.
Those premium guns toys were mean to teach history of the American culture and way of life!!
The main issue I see with the restrictions is… they really don’t solve anything. Its like when they restricted automatic weapons, did that solve gun violence at all ? No.
The main problem is once a restriction happens, you have lost it, you aren’t going to get it back, and way to many laws are being passed without any forethought, and solely based on a knee jerk reaction to things that could have not been prevented, even if the law was there before the incident/s.
Even if it was against the law to own a gun, do you really think that will end gun violence ? I personally don’t believe it will stop gun violence, and as far as violence in general, definitely not.
SAD BUT TRUE all you say!!
I have remove several comments as this site is about toy soldiers not gun rights. You will have to find another site to continue this argument.
Your right Paul. I hope I didn’t offend anyone. The UK, definitely isn’t the US.
These are the large Marx silver soft plastic weaponsMarx put into header card bags 2-4 at a time.
Kent: Do you happen to know around what year Marx start selling those out??.
I do own several, all but one in silver. The W73 is light orange and made of more soft plastic material, not rubber. Wondering why two different material were used !!?
