Three D printing that was done at the show seems to been met with interest and several people took advantage of the offering. The price was not cheap $70.00 a figure or $120.00 for two. The figure was not done there but will be processed and shipped to the client in about three weeks or less.
If you had it done at the show please send us a picture of the final result as other collectors will want to see it.
What scale were the figures done?
What software “slicer” they used ,and what printer type machine will do the figures!?If anybody know please..
I’m having my figures done in 54mm, they didn’t have the printer at the show only the scanner device. I was interested in seeing how it worked myself, but all they did there was scan us. They do offer different sizes and different materials, I didn’t check them out too closely though. The one figure option I saw stood 5 or 6 inches high . At $70.00 per figure I wasn’t going to upgrade any more, I can just imagine what the larger figures cost.
Hey Ed did you wear a costume, or get in a cool action pose ?
5-6″ That is a big size!!.Do they offer any smaller?
I am interested in how they turn out. Did they have an option to articulate the figure as well. Also if they would have had some props/outfits that you could make your figure in a nice pose with sword or axe, or flintlock, pistol would have been very cool. They probably didn’t do/ or offer that though.
The smallest size I saw was about 54mm, not sure if they can do anything smaller. Since, I used to box I assumed a boxing pose, had to change it a little because the circle you stand in was small and I had to fit both my feet inside it. There was no articulation option or at least they didn’t mention it. Some of the other guys came in costume, I think Ron Barzso did for sure and I saw at least one other guy in a Civil War get up. From what I understand if you wanted to carry a weapon it was okay to do so, I decides to pursue a figure if I made a decent sale, I didn’t really plan on having this done until then so I wasn’t really prepared. Then I went into my usual shopping mode, which is I know what I want to buy and I buy it. They did have a variety of sizes they offered, but when I am in shopping mode , I kind of focus in on what I want and ignore everything else. They didn’t have any props, it was a bring your own deal. I was hoping they had the printer there that’s what I really wanted to see in operation , how it was done and how long it took.
Thanks Ed, You ought to post a pic of the miniature when you receive it. He can be like the commander in your armies.
