Today I went over the Das Awkscht Fescht for the outside dealers of toy town. The dealers set up early to get early buyers and be ready for the regular show which is on Saturday when the inside opens up. I wanted to do the outside dealers as we have a threat of rain for today and tomorrow. (It is either too hot or it rains on this show.) I got there around 10:00 AM and started to walk around.
I was pleasantly surprised that a number of dealers had decided to set up despite the threat of rain. I walked around and checked the various dealers. I found one dealer with various Marx pieces at very reasonable prices. I also found six Andygard horses but no figures! At our friends’ stands of John Reichl and Mike Russo I found some foreign figures including a solid Timpo mounted Roman. Mike was also selling Marx Jim Hardy for $85.00 and three Marx ranch kids for $65.00 each. Both Mike and John had a wide range of items for sale with Mike having various oil cans for sale.
There were some other dealers with plastic I saw a Marx western town playset, Marx prehistoric set among others. I saw several collectors walking around Tom Stein who had just bought the Houghton Mifflin “Getting Ready To Read” in yellow, he already had the set in red and Bob D’Angelo. Also saw Mark whose last name I forget seeing some Ideal accessories at John’s stand and realizing he need his list to make sure he had that color or not
After an hour I headed home with a stop off to mail packages.
