I recently picked up some loose Star Wars Battle Pack Figures. One of them was the Hoth Planet Rebel force with binoculars. I am going to keep the way he is, but I got to think could he be changed to WWII German Soviet front? I know the picture would have to go, but would be too much work to convert him. Let me know your feelings.

The boot/pant holders (Woolen Puttees (enlisted man’s leg wraps) are more of Scandinavian type alpine uniform, same as Italian, Rumanian and Austrian. The coat looks more type Russian/Finland type. Still if cover sanding off a little lower the pants and adding some paint to lower part of the pants down in order to erase the (leg wraps) .The gun holster need to be removed as German officer carry it in the opposite side not the right side, or carved as shovel/ballonet .The front chest add need to be removed or sanded off, maybe cover with some small bag resembling binocular pouch!!?.,Binoculars, need minor cut in order to make look more ww2 type divided in two .Goggles are winter skier type very similar to the ones used.
The overall appearance with the German/Austrian alpine type cap could well be used as German alpine/mountain troop, specially the radio box type, very similar to GERMAN SIGINT 70000 series Field Radio. So I will said yes, no a hard to convert and once done properly very hard to noticed where it come from. (Great idea picking up this figure for that)
I would just leave him as he is, he would go good as desert, or Alpine/Mtn. recon. Maybe strap a rifle over his shoulder. Are those new figures Paul ? Star Wars Battle Pack, I am not aware of them.

I will be leaving him as is. I have no time to do conversions and I terrible doing conversions. I enjoy the work other people do.
The Star Wars Battle Packs were out years ago. Hasbro will have new Star Wars figures in the toy soldier style later this year.
